I noticed there is only a dozen act slotted for the carousel stage, so only 3 acts a night? Last year there was 4.
Is this in response of the people in the county complaining about music until the sun came up? or they just couldn’t get enough acts?

They addressed this on the last Juggalo show saying they don’t want to book the same acts every year,
but allow me to break down your suggestions @chunk801 –
Potluck-won’t be there cause they tried to cause beef with KMK, who will be at every GOTJ because they are “grandfathered in” according to Jumpsteady.
Slaine– his last album flopped and he does not sell tickets on his own as a solo artist. He headlined a show in my town a few months ago and less than 50 people bought tickets
Hed pe– agreed, I thought they were a Gathering staple.
Murs-is really not that great of a rapper
Brotha Lynch Hung-again not a ticket seller nor would that create any buzz
Bukshot- seems like a nice guy but is a shitty rapper. Good on him for supporting Faygoluvers with his ads tho fo sho.
Big B– he is usually there, so my guess is he is just not touring this summer.
MIKE E CLARK!!!- he’s a busy guy apparently
Mayday-I think they are touring Canada when the Gathering is on this year. Gonna catch there show when they swing through Toronto because they kept the ticket price at a reasonable 25 dollars.

I guess you haven’t watched the last Juggalo Show cuz Jumpsteady pretty much explains why certain artists aren’t there.
And I agree with him.
There are only a few artists that are a “given” to play at The Gathering and the rest would get really fuckin’ stale if they were booked EVERY year.
Look up the psychological terminology of “intermittent reinforcement”. It’s what makes reoccurring characters in tv shows and movies more popular than the main characters and ensures that certain acts don’t run their course too soon.
The Gathering is essentially “Psychopathic artists AND friends”. If they didn’t rotate the roster any, we’d get the same shit over and over again and no one would learn to appreciate how fresh it is for a certain one to be there.
The fact that you WANT them there makes them BEING there LATER that much more awesome when they do.

I had a feeling they wouldn’t there after last year when Jared got into a fight in the crowd with some hecklers. I don’t know if they wanted them back there after that.
Madchild is there but no Slaine. Woulda been nice to see them together or even Swollen there again. I like Mads solo stuff but not as much as Swollen together.

@miklo-velka @cheshyr Fuck I have been keeping up but missed that last two shows and I heard the juggalo show was all gotj related so I didn’t care to check the archive, if they’re trying to switch it up that’s all good, this year I think looks better than the past couple. I think 2011 had one of the best line ups still. Yeah mike clark doesn’t really post much to social media so you never really know but he is busy it seems, the artists I named off aren’t high on my list of favorites just names you generally see but nobody will be bitching about them not being their

Right but the carousel (underground) stage had 16 acts last year, 4 a night. This year 12.. either 3 a night or 4 a night then deadley medley one night?
I really only ever pay attention to the main and underground stage.. Tho this year there is a few going on the third stage i gotta catch
Like fucking Liquid Assassin playing during the day.. wtf… I guess since he join LSP he has to go with the lower ranks but he’s a GOTJ veteran. Trizz is the shit too, he got a nighttime set tho..
