When it comes to that 6000 attendee cap i get a bit uneasy. Im not sure how they will handle that. I imagine they will flat out only have 6000 tix for sale. But will they let us know when they are reaching their limit? All im waiiting on is my homie to hear back about his time off request then were getting tickets. But i remember the 2nd time i went in 2011 they were turning ppl away at cave in rock and this place is way smaller ive heard. Basically i dont want us to take a bus, hitch/walk the last 25 milefrom zanesville or whatever its called to just be turned away with tix in our hands. Ill fucking explode. Can someone give me some clarity on the matter?

I assume if you have tickets, you’ll get in. But I’ve never gone so I can’t say. I would hope that they would understand. I’d hate to take the bus all the way there and be stranded, too.
i don’t remember hearing about people being turned away. This post http://deadspin.com/5831225/dr…..e-juggalos describes a late arrivals adventures into the gathering. By the time she arrived, most tents were already set up and the bathroom had already been made unpleasant.

I got there fairly early on the first day. After we set up shop we made multiple runs to the car and back and there was a line of the same cars that sat there for hours. I heard one of the workers say they are going to have to start turning people away. I think psychopathic might not have anticipated so many people? Because we got our tickets there and i heard a few people that were pissed about already driving so many miles and they were turned away with pre purchased tickets. But this was 4 years ago my details may be foggy. But still a little worried either way. Dont want to be stranded after all the worked we put in getting there with no supplies (gonna carry light due to having to hitch/walk a ways)

@juggalotus8990 Where’d you pick up on this bit of info?
This was a major sticking point in the forums LAST YEAR and Jumpsteady addressed it in a Hatchet Herald from before last year’s Gathering.
(I tried looking for the page in the thread but can’t locate it)
But in a nutshell… don’t worry about it. 1) it was never an issue for anyone 2) they opened up MORE area for people to camp in (which is now officially where the JCW Stage is now located so it’s there for camping use) 3) we all assume it was just “politics”
After The Gathering got bounced from it’s original site at Crybaby Campgrounds, there was a lot of apprehension from locals and police (so they would have us believe) and that comment about the cap tweaked a lot of people.
However, seeing as last year went off with NO problems from either the police or the Juggalos everyone is much more comfortable.
Surprised to see this brought back up as *I was one of the people freaking out about it last year.
Don’t sweat it.

From the horse’s mouth:
I also wanted to take a moment to address the capacity situation. We have structured the Gathering this year to accommodate 6,000, which is a number we based on the attendance of last year. However, the property at Legend Valley is 120 acres (which can hold about 50,000 people) and there are options for us to expand if it goes beyond 6,000. I have talked to Steve in length about this when we were first booking Legend Valley. He has done events there with well over 40,000 people and I guarantee that there is plenty of room for everyone to attend the Gathering this year and no one will be turned away. So far ticket sales are higher than where we were at last year at this time, so we will see if we indeed need to take these steps.
(I apologize for calling Jumpsteady a horse.)

It is, indeed. And don’t feel like an idiot for freaking out, that’s only natural. I can vouch for Cheshyr being the one flipping out last year about this time, between the capacity question and, if I remember right, a ticket that went missing in the mail. And it all turned out fine. Nothing to freak out over, but at the same time, nothing to be embarrassed for asking about.

Yes it is but Legend Valley was not the “original” location after they moved it from Cave-In/Hog Rock.
And yeah, the other function of that thread was for us to freak out about the cops possibly harshin’ people’s gig. Which they apparently never did and we all had the times we wanted. It’s still getting posted to because of the name of the thread and some of the newer folks are asking the same questions from last year.
It’s okay, homie. At least you’re trying to do your Gathering homework.

Alright cool. Not too worried now. Just hope now me and the homie dont have to walk too far before getting scooped up. Itll be fine though. First year, our cars alternator shit the bed and two cars from 2 different states jumped us 8 times the last 20 miles starting at 5am. It was fucking incredible.

@entrappedmind Haha, yes. I must have blocked the second part of that from my mind as I almost forgot about the ticket thing.
I didn’t get my ticket until the DAY BEFORE I was supposed to leave. After a series of phone calls and emails I was assured that I would be able to get in (with documentation) only to have the damn thing show up at the VERY 11th hour. Which is why I was freaked about the cap because I was worried I wouldn’t able to get in if I had to pick mine ticket up once I got there only to find them turning people away…
That’s why I bought my ticket for this year’s Gathering within, like, 15min of them going on sale. Never again! haha

Zanesville? That’s just a hop, skip, and a jump down the road on 40… And the Greyhound station is right ON 40… I can theoretically come scoop you guys up… Maybe in exchange for breakfast? What day/time is your bus rolling in?

I found this map for a different event at Legend Valley. If you noticed on other side of 13 there is camping. I am assuming that if for some reason they needed more room for the event that is where they would open up access for camping.
