There’s always someone who thinks The Gathering is too expensive…
Oh yeah?!
ONE TICKET for FIVE DAYS and FOURS NIGHTS of serious fuckin’ fun and fresh fuckin’ flavor = $180(+$100 for car pass)
24hr. PARKING + TENT CAMPING = FREE
Pretty simple, right?
Now check THIS shit out!
Coachella=====>
ONE(1) General Admission Ticket for THREE DAYS of entry on the event grounds = $375 (VIP=$900)
ONE(1) CAR Camping or TENT Camping Pass = $85 (no night time parking except in camping area with pass or Companion Parking Pass = $30 in a separate night time parking area LIMIT one per order)
(VIP DAYTIME Parking =$150 and everyone in the vehicle needs to have VIP Admission Passes)(Companion Parking Pass required for anything else)
ONE shuttle pass = $60 (cuz shit is FAR away)
NO RV CAMPING
Other packages available that BEGIN at $2350 (includes two GA admission and shuttle passes) and go up to $5200
All prices do NOT include service and mailing charges (totaling about $30)
Then there’s this shit:
NO=> blankets, bota bags (waterskins), chains/walletchains, chairs, drones/remote toys, flags, hula hoops, instruments, outside food/beverages, professional cameras (defined as anything with a removable lens), selfie sticks/narcissistics(?), sharpies/markers, stuffed animals, tent structures(inside grounds), tailgating, totems(?), signs, umbrellas, video cameras, water guns or mist-ers, vape rigs or mods… besides the usual stuff.
Bonnaroo===>
ONE early order Pass for FOURS DAYS = $347.75(fees and shipping included)
“2nd Tier” (post-preorder) = $373.75(fees and shipping included) (VIP (includes TWO Passes) =$1,639.50(fees and shipping included)
Free Camping (not inside festival) (RV Pass = $275(plus fees)
NO=>(inside festival grounds) cans, bikes/scooters/vehicles, pro cameras, glowsticks… besides the usual stuff
Both of them can be confusing as fuck to figure out and are all attached to how and when you ordered.
So here’s an easy breakdown representing one person JUST wanting to get in:
The Gathering: $190(includes mailing)
Bonnaroo: (pre-order) $347.75 / (any other time) $375.75(includes mailing)
Coachella: $465(includes mailing and shuttle pass) (no camping. gotta leave each night at 2am)
There ya go. Compare prices and rules then think of just what it is that Psychopathic does for everyone by giving us The Gathering each year. Admittedly, Bonnaroo seems to be the more chill of the two with better lineups and would be more up a Juggalo’s alley but Coachella is a fucking gold-digging west coast WHORE.
Act like ya know! And be sure to thank ICP and Psychopathic when ya can!
(ps I wasn’t able to get the info on Burning Man but I’m sure it would fall somewhere above Bonnaroo and below Coachella in costs)

Carolina Rebellion has some of the same BS. The lineup is pretty good but the way the lay out the pricing for 2 days is terrible. They have different price levels just for GA tickets that go up the closer it gets to the date. Way to force people to buy early. Plus they charge extra for camping which is sold out. Its not as bad at the other festivals but GOTJ is definitely the best deal around. It shows they care about their fans and not just about making some dough. I get it, they need to make money but its not like this mainstream music fest that charge you just to park your car.

anybody trying 2 walk in 4 free and sez they can’t pay, needs 2 be called out and thrown out! you can’t pay? get the fuck out !Honestly, I feel like Jumpsteady is basically forcing himself to say “if you can’t pay, it’s cool if you sneak in…”
Ya, during that first Juggalo Show of this year he was basically like, “Shit that’s what we would have done”. You saw that it was killing him inside though.
I tell you what, security was pretty good about checking wristbands 24/7 at the entrance to the camping grounds. If you do sneak in, you’re best bet is to stay put within the gates.

Some pirates who can afford it will sneak in anyway. I find admission beyond reasonable, but bring your own food & water if you don’t wanna pay at least $10 a meal.
I say though get a least 1 chicken on a stick or a corn dog. They were both tasty…or maybe it was just a case of the munchies. Also what’s good about legend valley is that there are 2 gas stations within walking distance that have water/snacks if your really trying to be thrifty or if you don’t wanna over stock up in advance. Either way though I though the admission is very reasonable. 45 bucks a day plus free camping…awesome deal. Oh and thats right there are actually a lot of artist I wanna see unlike the cochellas or other mainstream festivals which have a lot of this and that.

It wasn’t until I saw how the other festivals did their camping that I realized how fucking AWESOME it is for so many reasons that The Gathering has their camping INSIDE the festival. No fuckin’ buses or shuttles; no extra passes or pricing. Walking around the grounds is taxing enough as it is without adding another half hour walk to and from your home base (and the extra cost for the privilege).
At The Gathering you can set your shit up next to any stage of your choosing! Roll outta bed and BAM! yer there!
Also… the people. From what little videos seem to come from people after the other festivals I’ve been able to see, everyone isn’t “there” with everyone else around them in the same way as Juggalos seem to be at The Gathering. Oh sure, there’s cool people to be found at any event but mostly they stick to themselves and don’t engage nearly the same way. An’ that’s the power of the “Whoop!”. I could go on but ya’ll know how *we do!

There’s a difference between being expensive and being overpriced. $190 doesn’t grow on trees, so lots of people will consider it expensive. But is it overpriced? Not by a long shot.
Camping alone will run you $20 or more per day in a campground. That’s $100 including the parking lot party night. Add in one ICP show, one Twiztid show and one Tecn N9ne show at $30 each, and you have your $190 GOTJ ticket. Everything else is just icing. It’s a GREAT value for what they charge.
Oh, and those lists of ten thousand things that you can’t bring into the grounds of a festival? Fuck that. My last GOTJ will be my last festival ever. I have ZERO interest in going to other festivals with a list of rules a mile long.

I’ve always thought the tickets were reasonably priced but having it in the midwest sucks for me. It’s so expensive to fly to the midwest from LA and I don’t have juggalo friends to carpool with and shit. That’s the stuff that’s kept me out every year until this one. That’s where it gets expensive. Like, Coachella for me would be cheaper than the gathering but only because I could drive there. I used to go to comic con a while back (before it became impossible) and it was more expensive than the gathering but it was less expensive in terms of travel and shit.

I was on a greyhound last year with some Cali Juggalos that had been riding for like 3 days to get to the gathering.

I’m seriously considering greyhound at this point. It’s a lot longer, but it’s still really pricey. Tax refund came today so I’m buying something soon.

As far as pricing is concerned, I look at it the way some dude we met from Iowa interpreted it… I don’t remember the exact conversation, but when he learned Boxy had paid his own way, he was like “So, this kid can save up his money and pay for his own ticket, and there’s Juggalos out there that say they can’t afford it – what kind of bullshit is that? He’s lucky you drove him and paid for the parking pass…” “Uh, yeah, he actually split the cost of the parking pass and gas, too.” “THIS FUCKING 14 YEAR OLD IS THE MOST RESPONSIBLE JUGGALO I EVER MET!!!!”
Or something like that. lol. Of course, I feel like a hypocrite now that my kid’s employed and I’m not… lol. Funny how shit works out.
