Just read the Jumpsteady interview, and I was wondering: how do people taking greyhounds manage the food part of things? Should I just buy food once j get there? I don’t really have room in my small ass suitcase to bring cans of food and shit like that.

Another question: how reasonably priced is the food the venders sell? Are we talking like 10 bucks for a boiga?

Three chicken fingers and french fries cost us 9 bucks last year. Was decent sized, but not 9 bucks decent.

My girl n I only took the bus once, that was to 2001 in Toledo. We were scrubs but managed to eat just fine. We even got a last minute deal at the hotel, got the luxury suite for price of regular room since no one booked it. Had a hot tub. I recall my face paint floating on top of the water. . .

I think it’d be cool for juggs to buy mass quantities of cheap hot dogs or bread butter n cheese slices to sell dawgs n grilled cheese for one dollar to hungry homies. I would if I was going. Id call em Dollar Dawgz and condiments would be free. Ladies would get free food and younger kids. If you homies on foodstamps do that you could make pure profit in addition to helping feed the family hahahaha

Damn its right around the corner now isn’t it? Have fun y’all I really want to go now

Could be a good business model if it weren’t for all the ninjas giving away free food that they cook. Just walking around last year I was offered food about 3 times. I didn’t have to ask or anything.

Fine, free dogs and grilled cheese for all, but $1 forr ADDED BACON! Faygo 5¢

And I said this tale before, but the juggs that left a day early in 2004 gave us all their ground beef and Coors. Love the FAM!

Money isn’t really the problem, but rather space. I mean, I can get a cooler and food, I just have no way to get it on the greyhound.

Food was never too terribly expensive at Cave-In-Rock. Just your standard fair/carnival prices. I’ll be bringing the majority of my own food and I’m sure I’ll have extra. I’ll keep you fed homie. I may require some unconditional, no questions asked, favors afterwords, but I’ll keep you fed.

This years gonna be tight on me too as I probably won’t have much food/beverages, so I’m kinda relying on my good karma to help me out finding some snacks. I’m sure I’ll find some nice juggalos who’ll spare a burger if they got it. I don’t wanna be a mooch I hate that shit.

You’ll be fine. If all else fails, the Scrub Care Unit will have food and water. Also if you don’t mind a quick prayer with the Jesus squad that hang out near the front gate, they’ll give you food and water too.

There’s always the cardboard sign method. There was that one guy who paid his way in with quarters by wearing a sign at the parking lot party that said, “Bet you can’t hit me with a quarter”. Supposedly made over 200 dollars that way. (These are from tales I heard. I saw the guy and his sign and heard the change jingling in his pocket but I never saw him buy his ticket so that may or may not be true)

Plus if you spot me and I have food, you are welcome to some.

I wonder if my “Fuck me in the ass with rolled up twenties” plan would work.

I’m heading out with 3 cases of water and two 60-count packages of hot dogs, on top of what my kid and I are packing for ourselves. So if you find my campsite, you’re welcome to eat and hydrate ’til shit runs out.

Is Scrub Care Unit doing the family dinner again? Last year, they kept running out of bowls, so I bought a bunch of bowls over the course of the year that I was going to donate, but I haven’t heard about it this year.

From a June 13 FB post:

SCU HOURS OF OPERATION:

Parking Lot Party (July 21 and 22): All damn day… just come tell us your hungry and the grill will be lit for you!!!!

Gathering (July 23 – 26): SCU will have set hours of operations this year and they are – Daily: 2-5 pm and 2-4 am (after main stage concerts).

Nowhere in any post did I see anything mentioned about a family dinner. Looks more like they’re focusing on feeding people throughout the entirety of the Gathering.

Incidentally, they obviously know something we don’t know about the pre-gate-opening parking situation… Hmm.
