for juggalo purposes, there are three basic classses of police:
1 cool cops, who are more concerned with order than law, and are not really trying to be a hassle, just keeping everything safe.
2 regular cops, who are concerned with both law and order, and who have quotas to fill.
3 what ill call the dangerous cops. these include the larcenous extortionist cops, asshole cops with grudges, god-complex cops who think theyre above the law, etc.
the first two types are easily dealt with [dangerous cops are a special case]. all you have to do is… nothing. as ive said elsewhere, dont give them anything to work with.
example: years ago i was in line for some show or another. this kids walks straight up to a city cop and basicly says, 'im the one whos gonna give you the most trouble tonight.' ten seconds later, he was cuffed and on his way to the van, where they left him until the show was over. was it legal for the cops to do that? maybe, maybe not. but i guarantee they got away with it.
dont talk shit to cops! it gives them a license to fuck with you. keep a low profile. any illegal shit you wanna do, keep it outta plain sight. really, just use your head.
if a cop sees you writing your name on a street sign, or riding on the hood of your car, or even throwing trash out the car window, then you just gave them a free excuse to bother you, waste your time, and maybe fill up those quotas.
once theyve decided to fuck with you, be respectful. do not curse, at all. keep a calm level voice, and as cheerful an expression as possible [or, at least a blank poker face].
if youre being arrested: for fucks sake, dont resist! resisting arrest is one of the easiest, slam-dunk charges you can get hit with. certainly you can protest [still using that calm, moderate voice], but anything physical you do can be turned into an extra rap, not to mention an ass whuppin.
now the dangerous cops. these guys are the real 'pigs.' they like to play games that amount to bullying, they will instigate shit to drum up more charges, they may even extort money or sex, or plant false evidence. most of them talk a whole lotta shit.
heres the bad news: there really is no legal defense against guys like this. you get fucked with by a dangerous cop, youre in a world of hurt, especially if youre alone. try to keep to the original rules, but once they break the law, youve got two unpleasant choices: either bend over [perhaps literally], or risk it all and choose fight or flight [very poor odds here].
if you think a police has violated your civil rights- keep your mouth shut! say nothing, ride it out as best you can, and get in touch with a lawyer pronto. yelling about 'i know my rights!' will get you nothing but attention from bystanders, if that. besides, you may be wrong… example: cops do NOT have to read out miranda rights when they arrest you. they only have to read rights before interrogating or taking a statement that may end up in court. no court, no miranda.
right, this is long enough for now, anything else can wait a bit…
awfully paranoid, arent you?

Touching on the keeping your mouth shut thing.
If for some reason you do get picked up .. like Scruff said .. the worst thing you can do it start blabbing about knowing your rights. If you knew anything about your rights at all .. you know the only thing you say to a Cop if you think you are getting in trouble, is I do not wish to answer any questions without my lawyer present.
They will most likely start feeding you bullshit about that making you look even more guilty. Thats fine .. if you are guilty .. you're not giving them anything else to work with as far as making up more charges for you. If you are not Guilty of anything its even better. Trust me when I tell you that your eventual lawyer will be more than happy to listen to anything you wanna say about the cops. So just wait to talk to whomever that may be .. and say nothing.
I don't want to answer questions .. and or am I free to go?
Period.

you got 2 treat all cops with respect. they got the power. they can lock you up on sum bull shit, not show up 4 court, case dismissed, but you still got fuked ! jails are full of hard headed people trying 2 stand up 4 their rights. it's better 2 act a little scared and get 2 drive away. better 2 be a little bitch and breath that free air, then act tuff and go 2 jail. i've been locked up way 2 many times.
no fun !

What Scruffy put up there is so damn true its not even funny. I went searching for a cop thread to put my story from tonight in and when I found this one I was floored that I independently followed this advice from my own teachers and experience and it sure paid off.
Tonight I closed my store and got off at midnight. It rained earlier so the pavement on the highway I take home was slick. I was carrying about a zip of trees that I pickup from a guy at work in my trunk. The speed limit is 55 on the road I was on and I was going on cruise control until I got about 10 miles from home. Needless to say on the home stretch I started booking and hit about 75. As soon as I started to hit that speed I saw party lights and knew I was fucked.
The cop had me clocked at 77 which is reckless driving in Va and he was pissy because it was wet and murky, but by being polite and being straight forward about how fast I was going he gave me a ticket akin to failure to yield. He also gave me the benefit of the doubt about strip searching my car (which happens just about any time I get stopped given my priors). He said It looked like I had a rough past and since I now have about 7 years from my last charge he didn’t feel the need to hold me up after a long day at work to call the dogs.
Long story short if I had played like a dick or like I had no idea what I was doing Id have a reckless ticket and a distribution charge. Acting like an adult saved my ass tonight…./rant

I’ve only ever been arrested one time, and I was too young for them to legally put me in handcuffs. I was 14. Me and my friend were high as fuck. For some dumb reason, we decided to go outside. And for an even dumber reason my friend decides that he’s going to bring the pipe outside with. Why? I couldn’t figure out the logic in it, even to this day. Sometimes I’ve wondered if he had me set up.
Anyways, he whips the pipe out in broad daylight, and begins scraping out the resine. Cars are passing by, I’m too young to really be smart about the situation. Rest is history. The cops that arrested us would fall under #2, regular cops, which are usually the only cops you ever come across in Iowa.
I’ve seen a few with real nasty attitudes, either servicing notices to my neighbors, or were called to deal with a noise complaint. I never really met a “cool cop”. Unless You’re talking about the ones who will bullshit with you while waiting in line Kwik Star or wherever. But as for a cop who will “let you off with a warning”, or who will even bend the law a bit so he/she doesn’t have to get you into trouble…Nah, never met one like that. Ever. But if they do exist, someone should put them on the endangered species list.

One guy a I know was smoking a bowl outside, a cop came up, told him to empty out his pockets, he only pulled out his lighter, and the cop was like “naw I saw more”, and he was like alright, and pulled out his bowl, and the cop said if he smashed it in front of him, then he’ll let him walk since he was honest, so he did, I think that cop should fit in with the first category.
Now if this guy gave the cop shit, then I’m sure I’d have a different story to tell.

Actually, the 3 types of cops are:
1- Cops who abuse innocents, turn body cams off, murder people, and are overall just corrupt pieces of shit.
2- Cops who don’t really do all that, but they don’t do anything about cop #1’s heinous acts. They just sit back, let it happen, then defend their buddy cop #1 if it comes down to it. Thus enabling, and encouraging, this type of behavior from our police force.
3- Cops who go against corruption, that report cases of their fellow officers committing brutality, and then are forced to quit the force and move to a completely different state due to the tremendous amount of harassment and bullying they receive from other officers.

Uhm are police gonna come to my tent or go into the crowd and make me put out my doobie? Or tackle me to the ground?
Nope. At least they haven’t done that in the last two years. They are not trying to stop people having a good time. Don’t be a problem and they won’t give you any problems.

Fuck the bitch ass police, may they all go out like dallas.
damn bro that pretty harsh. I mean I have my opinion about police brutality but thats just awful to say that. I don’t like the police but I have respect for what they do. Not all of them are fucked up. Its funny how we never see the good things they do to help people and protect people. But thats your opinion. I’m not here to debate but I do think thats a harsh statement to say.

Last year I talked to several cops in a cart while leading a line of several people on acid (myself included) when a car jammed up the path in front of us. My pupils musta been ridiculous but they didnt care. Honestly they were more focused on the car and making sure it didnt run anyone over. They rolled past several card tables with weed on them that was obviously for sale.

I’ve been to many gatherings and from my experience, the Licking County Sheriff department are the most cordial of them all. Yes, they will be on the grounds like they have the last two years but they are there to keep juggalos safe. They do not want to interfere with you having a good time. They have repeatedly said how much they liked the juggalos due to lack of incidents that they have had to deal with in the many country music festivals they have worked at. These are “good” officers from my experience. They don’t cause problems, they prevent problems that may danger the juggalo patrons. If it is like the last 2 years, you will have a good time and won”t be given a hard time.
