I’m also shootin’ for Oddities if for no other reason than it’s closest to the ONLY showers (according to the map). Also, after plotting out my pick of events, I’m gonna be bouncing back and forth between the Carousel Stage and the Seminar Tent all day so it’s a bit more central without having to set up in the sun drenched fields.

I’m going to try for Alakazam or Kayfabe. How does the line for vehicles work? The three times I went before I was just dropped off either at the Gathering or at a campsite down the road. I’m hoping to be there Tuesday around noon… And they do consider trucks as cars for the “car pass” right? Not like campers and watnot?… Right?

I’m interested to know the answer to the first half of your question as well. We’ll be getting there around 6ish PM Tuesday.
As for the second half of your question, from the description where you purchase the car pass: “The Car Pass applies to vehicles ranging in size from motorcycles to full-size vans that are not towing trailers.”

As far as the car line goes (and this is *totally outta my ass), I’m thinking that they are somehow going to use the area on the other side of the street (that they don’t seem to wanna use for the Gathering and use for EVERY other event but I have sneaking suspicion they’re gonna have to anyway). They have a big circuitous roadway on that side and could easily have people turn into there and process everyone as they come back out onto Jacksontown Rd and into the area marked as parking on the map…
But that would be too easy and make too much sense so I’m sure it’ll be some clusterfuck backed up in both directions towards the interstate and down the road to Thornville.
But again, Jumpsteady sez to NOT show up early…

from what I understand. the car pass allows you 2 drive on site and park. you can’t move the car, until the event is over. the people that don’t have a car pass and park across the street, can walk 2 the car and drive 2 the store, waffle house and hotels. you’re not stuck paying 4 overpriced food and flea market goods from the “fam.”! prolly best to have 2 cars? one with a car pass and one without?

I drove an RV through the line in 2012 & was a car passenger in the 2013 line, and until a bottleneck with Gathering employees forced vehicles into a line it was a clusterfuk. From my experience the earlier you get there Tuesday and the more strategically you park near the entrance the better, safety first, and don’t be shy.

Yeah. I’m a dumbass. I coulda just went back to the website to see those details. As for not noticing the first time… I mighta just been a little excited to care.
If my reply came off dick-ish, it wasn’t intended to. My bad.
I agree with @cheshyr. Across the road would likely be their best bet for sensibly lining folks up – and I also agree that since it makes sense it probably won’t happen. Heh.
If they don’t let you park on Tuesday… I dunno… Go to the restaurant next door and drink a shitload of coffee, tipping by the hour, in the hopes they don’t run your ass out of dodge?

With any luck, they will line people up in that field across the street, and will have people file into the campground in the order that they arrived. A huge gripe I had last year was how I arrived about 24 hours early, yet people who arrived 18 hours after me were inside the campground first because they drove up the sides. Parking people in neat lines, then letting people in line by line would eliminate the confusion and line jumping, if you will.
That being said, I’m sure that that’s not how they’re gonna do it, and it will end up as a cluster haha
