Yo, list em. Yinz know who don’t count. Not that they don’t count, but that we can’t compare em with fair judgment.

1. Old dirty bastard

2. Number 2 means fuck you.

3. Busta rhymes/ waka

4. Mushroom head always kills it

5. Three 6. ( surprised there was no killjoy set)

6. Lil Jon was fucking awesome, even tho he didn’t seem to like us.

4. Yelawolf

5. Twisted Insane

This year Waka Flocka Flame on Main Stage, and Freeze on the Underground. Combined with Cotton Candy Faygo they were the perfect storm. Overall, Cannibal Corpse laughing at their insane pit from last year still makes me smile.

ODB seemed so bugged at first, then the crowd amassed and it was irreplacable.

So… I havent been since 2004…. but remembering as much as possible… id have to say that some notable performances were…

ODB in 2003 (?)

Bone Thugs N Harmony special guests in 2001

Marz and his titty bitches in 2001

it was just cool to actually see Bushwick Bill

im hating that lots of you got to see The Pharcyde, Kool Keith, Xzibit, Busta, Rehab… just sayin

Definitely Saliva in 2011…I was super duper hardcore Saliva fan at the time, and seeing them at the Gathering was amazing.

Other honorable mentions would go to Cypress Hill, Whitney Peyton, Ice Cube, Flosstradamus and the 50 Shades of Snuff show (since all those people are great).

I was there for that too. smile

They really rocked!

A little over dressed for the Gathering but they still killed it!

Only wish Psychopathic gave them a later time slot. Still, it made for a little smaller crowd, and I got right to the front easy and peeped the whole show up close.

Smoked a big blunt in the pit during their set, if I remember correctly.weed

Ice Cube, MC Hammer and Paris killed it in 2011 too.

i skipped most of their set but people told me that Wes seemed really pissy and tempermental until someone from the crowd gave him a blunt and he hit it, then they loosened up. The same person said the music was kinda OK when he was being pissy but became a lot looser and fun when he hit the blunt.

While I was walking towards the front at the end of their set, they were playing She Fucking Hates Me or whatever, but the crowd where I was at was shouting We Fucking Hate You during the chorus.

Other people told me they enjoyed the set though.

Puddle of Mudd was actually pretty cool, they were nervous and played quite a few cover songs, we had our mom with us for the mainstage so she loved that, especially when they did give me shelter by the rolling stones.

I was there when Saliva played.. and well… awful music is still awful live. I remember wishing someone would pelt them with something and get that awful voice off the stage, but I was just chilling at my campsite. At Cave In Rock it was too far to walk to the stage just to hate on someone.

Yelawolf, Cypress Hill, Method Man & Reddman (probably my favorite non PSY set I’ve seen there), Cannibal Corpse

I was front & center for their show just behind some groupies who came just for them, and as the crowd warmed up to them they started letting loose. Their performance was intense and grungy, and when fans rushed the stage to give them presents (drugs, booze, etc.) it seemed to make them so happy. Later I passed Wes Scantlin (the lead singer) being driven around in a golf cart, and he was beaming behind his rock star glasses.

Good to know the Mudd rocked!

Wes smoked a big joint on stage when I saw them earlier this year too.weed

A Puddle of Mudd show is a 2 way street -the more rockin’ the audience is, the more Scantlin starts to give a shit!

Method man/Redman was dope as fuck and probably my favorite.

Busta Rhymes killed it (even though we had to wait forever for it)

Ice Cube killed it

Ice T killed it

Onyx killed it’

Rehab killed it

Mack 10 was pretty good

Lil John killed it (and even had Ice Cube for a song if the drugs didn’t make he hallucinate it)

GWAR killed it  (best quote from my homie “Ive never been covered in that much blood/alien semen at the same time”)

George Clinton & Parliment Funkadelic killed it

DMX woulda been dope if he showed up

Wakaflocka killed it this year

So did Dope DOD.

Man ive seen some dope ass shows by going home….sadly none of these are anywhere near my highlight of any of the years.

"Somewhere theres a Waffle House thats severely understaffed right now" -OCJ to Scruffy watching a second stage act at the Gathering.

DUDE! I’d love if George Clinton would come back, they were awesome and always had the crowd dancing.

DMX broke my heart by not showing up, literally ruined that day of the gathering for me, i just went to my tent and went to sleep until the next day.

by far the best performance was a young, southern gentleman that went by the moniker of… uh… Brother Spike… no, wait… Sparks.. i mean Sparx… Sparxxx… Bubba Sparxxx….

so good that he only had to do a couple songs to bring the crowd to its feet, and solidify his place as a hippity-hop God! Crankin’ good time, Gromit!
