Just thought I'd throw out a positive review of this new VICELAND series, "The Dark Side of the Ring".

Narrated/Hosted by Mick Foley (with an impressive beard stalk), this series seems to be "legit". With REAL interviews telling FIRST HAND stories of some of the worst tragedies in wrestling lore. Real shit.

The first episode is that tale of the death of Miss Elizabeth.

The third episode (because for some reason OnDemand let me watch it) is about the death of Bruiser Brody (which includes some potentially shady shit involving Abdullah the Butcher (who is also interviewed lookin' in a STATE!).

The show IS the interviews. Personally, I hate re-enactments. But this show does them in a "black box" fashion, with dudes that look every bit as swoll as the counterparts they are playing... but they put them out of focus... it's... fuzzy like the memories they are recanting.

Seriously... I caught the first episode on a late night whim of channel surfing and now I can't wait for the next one (which would be episode 2 cuz they let me see three and who knows what comes next!)
