I tend to forget about that song so much. It's so off the wall compared to every track on MDP. I don't mind it's production. It's just really odd.
I always feel like J watched Wall-E once with his kids and came up with the concept. Post apocalyptic track about life ceasing to exist and J discovers a plant. Meaning life is returning.

I blame Billy Bill, what does he even do
Might not be too far from the truth. Necro is a dick but even he said he doesn't fuck with ICP on a professional level anymore because of the "guy who handles their business". This could only be Billy.
I can't imagine that Necro is the only artist that feels this way, even if he's the only one unprofessional enough to come out and say it.
Say what you want about AA, when he was in charge, they were fucking running shit. They were producing higher quality work, featuring with higher quality artists, every move was bigger than the next and everyone had money (well maybe not Mike Clark but we don't really know about that).

Definitely. Psychopathic's lack of professionality is astounding sometimes, and as the CEO of psychopathic it's your damn job to prevent that from happening. And it doesnt seem Billy Bill has to handle that much at all, which makes it even worse. He definitely seems to be the wrong guy for this.

The problem he's got is, Violent J is his boss. No matter what position he's in, J is always going to be his boss and that's not what they need. They need someone to manage them. Someone who doesn't give a fuck about their "fame", egos or their past. Just someone who takes their position seriously and does their job, without worrying if it's going to upset and divas.

Funny you should mention Necro, because Necro is also the only peer of theirs that I ever heard call out their mixing. He hated the mixing (especially of his vocals) on Fight Club and brought it up whenever somebody mentioned the song. I don't really have a good ear for it so I always just chalked it up to Necro throwing a bitchfit because it wasn't done exactly the way he'd have done it (he likes to mix his vocals super loud). But I guess he had a point. Both can be true tho.

I didn't know he criticized their mixing but it makes sense. He usually just sits his vocals on top of the beat. I'm not a big fan of that either but it's not as distracting as some techniques.
He's a notorious control freak though so yeah. No surprise there.
Way back in the day, I used to speak to him on AIM and he would always trash me for listening to ICP. Always said he'd never work with them because they're "fags" and constantly telling me how whack they were, to the point where it got boring. Fast forward, like 5 or 6 years and he's playing the gathering, then a year or two later he's featuring on Fight Club. Everyone's got a price, I guess.

So I'm not an "expert" either, but I am a musician and have been mixing and producing a long time. I actually really like how "Daisies" sounds. I can see why others wouldn't because the style of it is much different than how it's usually done for ICP. But I think the way it's mixed and how sometimes the vocals kind of fade into the instrumental was an intentional thing to make it more about atmosphere and less about having a "hook" or whatever. Instrumentally, the sound of the drums in particular is some excellent stuff.
I dunno, I seem to like that song more than most people anyway so maybe I'm justifying it in my mind? Whatever, it's dope shit to me.

I get that. It's all in how we perceive things.
I remember I used to record movies off this old box TV with the VHS. The picture was peremenently dark and odd-tinted, so it gave things that I recorded a weird, otherworldly appearance. It made movies like "Pee Wee's Big Adventure" and "Half Baked" seem kind of evil lol.
Nowadays watching Crystal clear movies where you can see people's goddamned pores, can take away MUCH illusion of cinema. I tried to watch "Edward Scissorhands" other day and his scar makeup looked so phony up close, it took me out of the film.
Plus I started to wonder, how does he take a piss?
Also, his father figure "made" Edward with "a real heart, lungs, etc" so he must've been on some Mad Professor shit.
That Fight Club song is awful no matter what. Fuck that shit.
I like Necro but wow what a prick. Part of his image I guess.

Whoever said Flamethrower is bad is insane that song is easily the best song on Lost.
That's one of the only songs on Lost I actually enjoy. I could see why some didn't like it though, neither J or Shaggy did very much with their flows and I would have liked to hear more effort there. But still, it's an enjoyable track with a cool beat.

Y'all are crazy, lol. Even though there aren't so many bangers or outstanding tracks on Lost, it's a fun, grim ride through a lost mind. It's not perfect at all, the intro hella cheesy and all, but I like it. Falling Apart and I See The Devil I like the most, but Flamethrower, Vomit, I'll Keep My Hatchet, Confederate Flag and even Shock are decent songs in my opinion.
However, Lost is the only album I dared to switch up the songs. Combined with The Outtakes they could have made such a better Playlist, but more on that in the other thread.
By the way, I don't really understand why The Mighty Death Pop has such a better stand against the other albums from the second deck. There are songs that I love, Hate Her To Death for example or Shooting Stars, but there are many songs on that album I couldn't care less for. Skreem, Ghetto Rainbows, Juggalo Juice, When I'm Clownin,... yeah. As much as I love Mike Clark for the first six like everybody does, I don't think he served the clowns well in starting the Second Deck. In Yo Face was great and a few others, but many beats sound cheap in my ear (sorry, can't describe it better for the lack of better vocabulary) and the delivery / how their voices sound, I don't know. I know BPB and MDP are probably way more professional than the rest of the second deck, but they aren't outstanding albums by any means - even though I dig many tracks as well.
So.. yeah. I listened to Yum Yum Bedlam a few times now and I don't really know. The production could have been better, the shout outs to Deveraux and Shaggy The Airhead are simply annoying and it doesn't feel like a Joker's Card at all. But I'm enjoying it more than I thought I would. Many solid tracks, but none I would consider as great so far. I'm gonna give it a few more spins.
Wretched feels hella out of place by the way, maybe that song wouldve been a better choice as a Hallowicked single than the one I already forgot about because it was so lame.

I think its because Mike wasnt in the studio with them. The old way was them being together in the studio and all writing together. Mike making the beats on the fly and changing shit with the song as the vocals progressed. Feels way more organic. Last time they did that with him was Bizzar Bizaar and it shows. Since then, he just sends them beats and they engineer them in their studio.

Im not completely unconvinced this wasnt supposed to be the Hallowicked single but it was so good that they threw it on YYB. It would make sense, considering how it literally sounds nothing like the rest of the album. It could have been one of the best hallowicked singles ever made but instead its just the best song on an ok album. I kind of get why they did it, if thats what they did.

Hm, interesting. If I remember correctly, I read somewhere that Mike and them weren't together in the studio during their work on The Tempest, but that they worked closer together on BPB and MDP. I may be wrong though. This would explain why BPB and MDP are what they are (to me).
