I was wondering if anyone here has read the book “You Don’t Know Me but You Don’t Like Me“… I just finished reading Behind the Paint for the first time and realized how much I actually enjoyed reading (Absolutely amazing book btw!). Wanted to read another book about ICP book not sure if this one is any good. let me know what you guys think

I liked the parts about ICP and Juggalos, that’s only maybe 25% of the book though.  The rest is about Phish, the author’s girlfriend, and him having a nervous breakdown, which I couldn’t get into at all.  At least it’s clear which chapters are about ICP and Juggalos and which aren’t, so it’s easy to skip the other stuff.

Also the ICP/Juggalo chapters are mainly about how the author went from being a nerdy, intellectual, hipster type who thought ICP was ridiculous, to ending up respecting the whole thing, and his theorizing about Juggalo culture and where Juggalos are coming from.  If that sounds interesting and you don’t mind buying a book just to read part of it, I would definitely recommend it- the author is a smart guy and has some interesting things to say.  It doesn’t come anywhere near the levels of freshness of Behind the Paint though.

Sure thing.  I’m reading this right now BTW and it’s pretty good, the book description on the Amazon page pretty much sums it up.  It’s a lot of theories and analysis kind of stuff, a lot of which I don’t agree with but it’s still interesting to read.  I think it’s Kindle only though.

Nice, that book actually looks really interesting. Ima purchase it now (I see they have it available in paperback) so when I come back from my mini vacation it should be waiting for me. (Driving to LA for the ICP show, and gonna head over and kick it in mexico for few days after that) I’ll let you know what I think of the book next week.
