I hear a lot of people say its the least favorite card, sounds too dated etc etc….. Would you have liked icp to re record the album in the vein of mr johnsons head remix and red neck hoe 99? Not totally change things but just add to them and build off the base of the original tracks?

Nah, I’d rather they just focus on creating new material. Keep moving forward rather than looking back. CoC had its day, it made its place in history, and that’s where it should stay.

I dunno, for Carnival of Carnicks to be a truly dope album they’d have to change damn near everything about it. If they just rapped the same, or slightly altered, lyrics over some remixed beats, a lot of it, I feel, would still be kind of stale. Don’t get me wrong, CoC still holds a special place in my heart, all their albums do, just… some of their earlier lyrical content is embarrassing. They were young, uneducated, and inexperienced, so I’ll excuse it. But they’ve evolved a lot as entertainers since then. Revisiting the dark ages would be selling their talents short.

I don’t have a least favorite Joker’s card, but if I had to choose a least favorite, it wouldn’t be CoC. Have to agree with @luckynumbrxiii , “Never Had it Made” is one of my favorites as well. But so is “Taste”, “Red Neck Hoe”, “Guts On The Ceiling”.

I wouldn’t mind some more remixes from coc but no….you cannot re-record coc. It’s just like all the rap back in 92. It fits it’s time in the history of hip hop. I like listening to different artists albums released in the same year. See what the vibe was that year.

I’d actually love to have them rerecord it. I know it’s not popular to say but it legit sounds like ass. They’re much better rappers now and you gotta admit when J started mind playin’ tricks on me with “showed up at your high school prom” it made me want an all new redone CoC. Remixes won’t solve a lot of the problems plus they’ve said they don’t have the clean vocal tracks anymore, only mixed shit. I’d bump the shit out of a totally new, hard ass rerecorded CoC.

a coc mulligan could be cute, if done really well; but it would be little more than a novelty, and come at the expense of whatever new music theyd otherwise be recording.
