How could they not? It was at GOTJ 2 years ago that they performed then signed to MNE directly after.

Their dark, is a guess. Not quite Psychopathic material?

Another guess is MNE had a better offer?

I really hope your talking about Alla Xul Elu?

Yeah bitches, im that short gentleman mentioned in that youtube video.

And the very nice, level headed guy from that other youtube video.

Simple, ICP doesn’t do straight horrorcore acts. AXE is too standard horrorcore for PSY. they like their gimmicks, and a little bit of goofyness. To be on PSY you need a WWE-style character.

I believe they were on the juggalo show with icp before,  pre 2017.

Anyways,  it’s a fact that axe turned down multiple record deals from multiple record companies…i think they turned down two mne contracts before taking the third… They prolly got offered one from psy first.

Your not wrong,  but psy, during that period of time, WAS looking for anything outside their “norm”…bbs fags were also in the running….then they found Lyte, and then Louija….now they are just icp.

FYI they were signed to mne when they did that whoopstock gathering, it just wasn’t publicly official

Axe sound like every horrorcore.com group from 2008. There’s no reason to think icp would sign them.

I don’t like trashing on Psy, but I do love AXE, for real they’re amazing, idk where the hate for them comes from.

I would have loved AXE when I was in my teens. I understand their appeal, but it is no longer for me. I’m almost 36 goddamned years old. Ironically, I enjoy listening to dudes older than me rap about Clown shit and all. Just a preference thing.

I’m not hating on them. It’s just the truth. I think they’re one of the better acts on MNE but they’re not exactly original.

AXE has outstanding production and interesting voices too. I think they would’ve been dope on Psy if they gave the same freedom to them that they gave Quija. Besides, if amb/abk/that1bitchJfuckd are good enough for Psy then who the fuck isn’t?

i don’t bump a lot of their tracks but ‘Skin’ and ‘The Trunk’ both get regular rotation.

Exactly this. I can see myself, in 2003, listening to AXE and getting all angry and shit, pretending to hate Eminem, pretending to love every song every released on psychopathic and acting like every psychological records album didnt sound exactly the same.

I can see it now, browsing the horrorcore forums, posting about why AXE are the best shit since sliced bread (sliced bread is the greatest rapper of all time, imo) and adding their CD to my collection, reading the booklet til I know it by heart.

But I’ve heard enough generic, angry horror rap in my time. You gotta be something different, if youre gonna be “new” with this shit, for me. Im glad people are able to experience new artists like this but its not for me.

I’m proud to say that I never fell for the “fuck eminem” phase mentality. I actually didn’t love him from the first time hearing “My Name Is” and to this day I find his voice a bit grating. But if anyone asks me if he is in the top 10 rappers of all time (as far as skill and delivery, etc) I will say “yes”.

However, I must admit that in my 1999 teen years, for one brief, shiny moment, I wondered if these two Clown Gentlemen were really harbingers of the apocalypse… like maybe they knew something I didnt about the end of the world approaching… “3 more cards and the skies will be falling” etc… then I came down from my DXM/cannabis buzz and shook my head and smiled. I remembered that it it was just two hyper-creative, hardworking scrub dudes from Michigan who were just trying to make a living and have fun doing it.

I like the odd voices.

But more than all this why hasnt ICP signed anyone lately?

Even if it wasnt A.X.E., which is making both them and MNE money. There has to be someone out there that does have potential of fitting their bill, and yet we dont hear or see anything?

Its odd.

I like A.X.E. but I don’t love them like a lot of others do.

As far as generic horrorcore goes they’re some of the best to do it and they are built to tickle that bone for those that want that bone tickled.

It isn’t always about skill or style. It’s often about relationships. Nearly everybody who has signed to psy after twiztid came through a relationship to twiztid. Many of the others were directly connected to J, or were someone J got really excited about.

So yeah there might be some dope rappers around but unless they can get j obsessed with them or have a good relationship with someone in the inner circle they won’t get signed.

Besides, signing to psy might be a detriment at this point.

With twiztid signing everybody and their mom, the market is saturated. This scene is too small to have so many acts constantly dropping albums.

I’m a huge mark for ho99o9 right now and would love to see them on every psy event and tour or featuring on different albums. But they’re doing their own thing and being very successful at it.

This scene is sort of a musical ghetto. We’re segregated and it’s bottle necked. No one will do better in this scene than icp and twiztid without breaking out of that isolation the way tech does.

We are kind of on the same page. I get what your saying.

What im saying is, your telling me there hasnt been ANYONE since Ouija that has ‘struck’ J that way?

We all know if ICP is behind anyone, a few thousand more will follow them. Thats gotta worth a pretty penny that shouldnt be passed up.

Why is it being passed up on?
