who thinks mike p has better production than mike e clark? mike p has a BIGGER SOUND and more professional plus he went to music college for it. MEC just fucked around and learned to record himself in his house. the beats and mixing took artists to a higher level with mike p. I hope they work with him again – dark lotus, hells pit, wizard of the hood,shangri-la, etc. were the shit

I like em both and wanna hear them collab for ICP's next card just to mix it up a bit. Milenko and Shangri-La both have awesome production but they also had big budgets too. So I think that has something to do with it. They went to high tech studios to record those albums. Something they haven't done since Shangri-La. But at the end of the day it's ICP's call on how good an album is. Riddle Box was recorded in a basement and it's a classic. No amount of production can save lame content but great content can always save cheap raw production (ICP's early work). Some of the best music ever made is from struggling artists with little money. Music from the heart. But they're wack now and production won't matter much. ICP albums I like aren't judged on production. Very little anyway. Shit I'd rather listen to Golden Goldies bootlegs and have a real laugh than listen to most of the garbage they've been putting out lately. It ain't the production's fault.
The biggest problem is ICP is boring and are throwing a bunch of stuff at the wall hoping some of it sticks. Totally different mentality than their start to finish sound they did during the first 6 cards. Where their voices stayed consistent throughout the albums and they felt like one long song. The reason ICP albums lately haven't been good is because ICP haven't been good. It's really that simple. They're trying to do too many things and have lost their identity and what works. They used to be entertaining. They're not anymore. Only bits and pieces here and there but rarely.
But I'm all for big production. It would be dope if they stopped being cheap with it and went out to big studios again. Maybe spending the money will motivate them to not be ass.
