Meh master is highly overrated. It’s spotty and a part 2 as far as I’m concerned. Ride the lightning is much better, mainly because it more cohesive. I love thingy and sanitarium but back to back, they drag the album down.
That said, the first four Megadeth albums wrote the book and gave James Hetfield a style to cop, as well as Slayer. Before that, both were doing pretty boring third rate Judas Priest and iron maiden ideas. ie, hit the lights for example, which I believe predates Metallica to whatever band James was in prior to that.
Besides the the real debate should be AJFA vs RIP, which is a lot more difficult for me to answer.
I'm the neck cutta and I'm one block away...

Good points. Between AJFA & RIP, I’ve gotta go with Megadeth. For one, there’s an audible bass guitar, and I enjoy the raw energy of the album more. AJFA is very polished, and dark, but it’s also very long-winded. Tough call either way.
