everyone likes to act like they were down in 94-97 but the truth is, you had to be local and see them in shows. A lot of kids had "Milenko" cuz of the controversy and then jumped onto other mainstream music.
I agree with everything but that line. Personally I was 8 years old in 96 but surely there were alot of ninjas picking up on it at that point. Mostly through word of mouth cuz like you said the internet wasn't really "crackin'" at that point.
Also disagree about milenko bein' an essential. By far my least favorite card from the first deck. Although it did have memorable tracks "under the moon" and "hellilujah" being my two favs

i do sorta agree with mike. i myself wasnt really 'down' at that time, just a passing fan. i personally owned no icp until 96, didnt own a jokers card til the milenko rerelease. me and the homies pooled our music. couldnt tell you for sure when we starting refering to ourselves as juggalos.
the live show made a huge difference. my crew was fiendin for it, faces painted, all that. most of the crowd, however, was not particularly juggalo. didnt know the songs, etc. when the faygo hit, probably two dozen people fled away from the stage. i thought that was rioutously funny, because the only thing i knew to expect about the show, was to get wet.
by the way, hallowicked that year was at the american theatre in st louis... wall to wall juggalos.
awfully paranoid, arent you?

I was 15, in 97 or early 98 my Cousin had got the cd The Great Milenko from I dont know where. Being in Arkansas I had never heard of ICP. I was mostly a 90s alternative fan back then Bush and Oasis were my jams when I was a kid. I thought Milenko was the craziest thing I had ever heard. I went out and picked up Milenko for myself and the local record store had Riddlebox so I got it too. From that point I have been all about Psychopathic Records music. By the time Jekel Brothers came out I had gotten all the jokers cards and most of the EPs. I remember geeking out finding Terror Wheel in a book store when I was visiting family in Georgia. So yeah My Cousin got me in to Psychopathic. We are both still down today and go to the Live Shows together anytime Psychopathic does a show our way.

I didnt know anything about them at first and i was into Metal at the time mostly rap was something my bro was into. And He had a Soundtrack called The Great White Hype. One day i was listening to it and i heard Chicken Huntin slaughter house mix but the clean version and i was like wut the hek is this? It was rap but with guitars and like the dude was yelling at the end and the turntable cuts are wut caught my attention. Not only that but there was no cursing but weird sound effects instead. All that made me very curious and i listened to it more and read who they were The Insane Clown Posse so i said said to myself i got to see a picture of these guys. So i did some research on who they were. Now they internet wasnt the same in 97or 8 as it is now and there was a lot of fan run sites so i looked through those and found what album Chicken huntin was on and i Ordered the RiddleBox tape from this place called Sundance in my town which is now no more which sucks cuz i ordered most of The ICP catalog from them before they stopped making tapes. When i got it I was pretty geeked I remember the actual tape was orange like it was out a happy meal or something for halloween. Then i put the tape in my walkman and started to listen and the sounds i heard just moved me in so many ways it was like rock music but dudes were rappping and talking bout crazy toys coming to life and chopping up the creator and girls being dug up and Ol' Evil Eye caught me too with the whole Poe story. After i heard that i was hooked for life. They basically talkedabout all the stuff i was into at the time so we just fit man like i was meant to listen to that tape cuz my bro never listened to it much when he got it. But it all started with Chicken Huntin then after the RiddleBox i got RingMaster cuz it had the og version of Chicken Huntin then it was COC then just got all i could and i loved the painted face thing and the clown thing cuz i was already into that stuff before i knew who they were then on Milenko they made a song about a Juggalo and it was basically a song about my attitude towards alot of stuff so yeah ima juggalo. What is a juggalo he just dont care he might try to put a weave in his nut hair cuz he could give a f# less wut a trick thinks he'll tell her that her but stinks and all that.
That was me when i first started to listen to them and they have grown and so have i but not much changes im still down. Another thing that was cool about the tapes was they were all a different color: RM=Gold, COC=Blue, RB=Orange, GM=Purple, AJB=Red, BK=Green. Thats some creative stuff right there. ICP has always been about puting on a show in everyway right down to the colored tapes and doing interviews like they are wild wrestlers, Speaking of that i was super geeked about them being in the WWE and WCW and they did a movie with one of my fave bands of all time The Misfits in it so im down we will leave it at that.

I was searching around my bro's room for porn when I was like 11...and I found his cassette tapes. There was body count and Ice-t albums, NWA and Metallica shit....but I'll never forget when I spotted the Riddlebox cover art.
I said "what the fuck is that?"
then I flipped the tape around to read the tracklist and I thought...."What the fuck is this shit?"
I put the tape in and the Dark Carnival has held my soul ever since...

Str8 outa Behind Tha Paint-----------...Feeling a sense of home & belonging, Bruce formed a gang called Inner City Posse, which was composed of Joseph Utsler, Rudy Hill, other friends of Bruce, and a number of other connections he had made in Southwest Detroit. Bruce was jailed for ninety days in 1989–1990 for death threats, robbery, and violating probation; this experience convinced him to reduce his involvement in gang life. Bruce began his professional wrestling career after getting out of jail...
