I make mixes that include both. I've found that when I mix a bunch of random songs together, I tend to not skip over anything and can appreciate songs more when they're out of sequence.

the new Dark Lotus is stuck in my cd player in my car, so that. LOL. My phone has killjoy club, the mighty death pop, and then random songs from through out the career (plus songs from other artists).
