From the new hatchet herald

http://psychopathicrecords.com…..index.html

QUESTION: Now the first set of Jokers Cards had a countdown of six, till the end consumed us… this second hand is more random in appearance and expectation, so what is the plan to be expected of the final message?

VJ: We left off the graphic showing the 6 boxes with Bang! Pow! Boom! in the first box and question marks in the other 5 because if you look at Carnival of Carnage (the 1st Jokers Card of the 1st Hand), you see that we left it off there as well. We tried to make the 1st Joker’s Card of each hand more of an introduction to the Dark Carnival itself. I think with Death Pop it will all become clearer and the countdown graphic will defiantly be on there.

As for what can you expect for the final outcome, it can only be one thing really. Hell’s Pit again and Shangri-La again. I think the ending to the story will once again be death. The end of your time. Then it’s off to Heaven or Hell. We will release another Shangri-La and Another Hell’s pit album, only this time it will be a new guide taking you there instead of the Wraith. It will be all new music of course but with the 6th Joker’s Card of the 2nd hand. I hope this shit makes since and is as clear to ninjas interested as it is to us, because I can see it in my head clear as day.

The Joker’s Cards are warnings about how to stay outta hell. The Joker’s Cards are really the heart and soul, the nucleus to all things ICP. That to us is the true definition of our band. That’s the only place the real, genuine magic is. It ain’t in who me and Joey are. It ain’t about Psychopathic, or Juggalos even. It’s about what started it all, that Dark Carnival music.

Think it’s fresh that we get a revisit to the pit I like the idea of a different entity doing it too. The wraith was a reaper there do much wicked shit with afterlife can only imagine who will take us on that ride.

So Violent J is just completely out of ideas now? Another 6 cards, with a similar theme and a Heaven and Hell story with a different wraith at the end…… only now it's not subliminal whatsoever. Wow am I glad I grew up during the original 6……..

There is a subliminal theme to this set though. Violent J hinted about it and I believe ive cracked it. The new deck being about heaven and hell makes sense though. I mean look at a standard 52 deck of cards. They have a million different designs for them. Naked girls, city lights, the standard bicycle deck, dogs, tropical etc. The cards all do the same fucking thing BUT THEY ARE DESIGNED FOR DIFFERENT WALKS OF LIFE. This new set is targeted at those who werent around the first time. A new era of ninjas. ive met some ninjas who are down as fuck and have family love but for one reason or another they have never been able to get a hold of a copy of the ringmaster let alone many of the og psy albums because nobody hardly sells them. There are people who don't have access to the internet and can't download it and have no homies who can burn em a copy and have only enough money for their ticket and no merch. Some records stores carry older cds but major retailers DO NOT carry the older shit anymore unless its been on the shelf for years. Especially since were considered a gang now. I mean look at all the compilation albums that have came out lately. Its not because they want your money and theyre out of ideas but its because their shit is nearly extinct. The new deck is a new way to tell the same story to people who are unfortunate enough not to have access to the first deck and its a way for older juggalos to take a look at themselves and decide if theyve lived up to what they claim to. What about when the worlds like fuck us kill us what will ya be? what about when we create a new jokers card deck and try to get more people down what will you be? I am personally 100% behind icp and their message of the dark carnival. Let me ask you this, would you rather they come out with new faces, new songs and new tales from the dark carnival? Or just mass produce and advertise every classic joker card one by one?

When I read that the 6th was gonna be another Shangri-La and Hell's Pit I thought it seemed like a bit of a cop-out to do the same thing again, but I think Dako nailed it when he said all decks of cards have the same purpose even if they're presented differently. Well said.

Musically, let's remember this: Mike E. Clark didn't have a shot at the 6th the first time around. To hear him do a Shangri-La and Hell's Pit album would be wildly different from what we heard on The Wraith. And since it's ICP, you KNOW there's gonna be some twists and turns you never saw coming.

I've been down for 14 of those 20 years and I'm just as geeked about these new cards as I was about the 1st set!

BPB was amazing & I still bump the fuck out of it like I did with all the other cards when they came out! If I didn't dig 'em I wouldn't play them as much as I do!

J is right about us looking back at each era and remembering all the parts of our life associated with those times and how awesome it was.

The BPB era is no different for me, it's been just as magical as all the other eras…maybe cause my life is awesome and I appreciate it.

ICP have never let me down with a Joker's Card and I don't expect MDP or any other card in this 2nd set to be any different cause they have proved it to me time and time again without fail.

Of course this set will end with the Heaven or Hell theme again! That's all there is…your so called REAL life is going to end like that whether you like it or not, or choose to accept it or not.

The people hating would be doing themselves a great favour if they just shut their mouth and listened for once and looked inwards at themselves rather than outwards!

Maybe then they will start to realise that there is more to life than what our eyes see! Maybe we should just stab their eyes out so they can learn faster! LOL

If you don't like what ICP are doing fuck off, forget them and listen to something else or better yet make your own music if you're such an expert on what's dope!

What the hell? You can buy most of the original cards at any Hot Topic in almost any major mall in America, in fact I saw a copy of Ringmaster at the Best Buy down the road from here when I went Mother's Day shopping……. The only place that doesn't have their shit around here is Wal-Mart for obvious reasons.

Oh and I don't know a single damn person that really thinks Juggalo's are gang members, maybe older folks, but all the college kids round here think that label from the FBI is absurd.

And since when is the point of making a new deck for the new breed of Juggalo's? That wasn't even what started the first deck, and they just went with the Juggalo thing when they noticed their cult following.

And what the hell? If you are buying based on idea's buy a documentary? If I'm saying I'm annoyed that there's no new idea's why would I want to watch someone analyze an idea instead? How is that original?

What it really comes down to is this, if they write some killer shit I'll be pleased, I always buy ICP's new records and am always eager to hear what they do, in fact I'm looking forward to this record way more than I was with Bang! Pow! Boom! but what the fuck?  He said it's going to end the same way, and it's 6 cards, why not do 4 new cards? Like it's the same damn format of the first 6, 6 cards about being a good person and then an inferno reenactment, that's what really boggles my mind, that they are doing it the same way…… but barely being somewhat subliminal about it. They just had a legacy that's all…..

Now that you mention it I think you're right. But things change. People change. Obviously MEC and ICP's vision has realigned since their split so whatever Mike said in the past doesn't matter anymore. Either that or once it comes time for the 6th they'll get another producer again heh.

Ypsi Foolish said:

That's different. Like Warlock said, he only mixed a few songs. Plus it's something entirely different to take a song that was already made and remix it than it is to create a new song from the ground up.

Agree with every word, even the 14 year part. Good to know there's other old school Juggalos who feel the way I do.

You're entitled to your opinion. And in my opinion, your opinion is a tad askew. I did like Mike P and I wish he was still somewhat involved with Psychopathic, but I'd trade 10 Mike P's for a Mike Clark EASILY,

who buys music solely based on ideas?? the thing is i like to be impressed & surprised with new flavor & thats always been what icp tried to deliver hence every LP sounding different from the next & the jokers cards being different & having different meanings etc
