Buy the large one with the free refills. Have a rolled up garbage bag in your pocket. Dump the first batch into there. About twenty minutes into the movie get a free refill. Repeat the dump and refill process at least once more. Feel proud that you beat the system at a low price. Then feel stupid for realizing that you may attract attention walking out of a theatre with a garbage bag full of popcorn.

Meh. A large popcorn I won’t even finish. Don’t like movie theatre popcorn but yes I have snuck in other snacks and drinks before with only paying for a movie ticket. If I bought food/popcorn and some other snacks I’d be spending close to $20. That’s absurd.

I’ve mostly been a straightlaced and non-thieving guy my whole life. But my wife and I snuck into the theatres whenever we could to protest the outrageous prices. Just go around by the bathrooms if the guy isn’t there, and walk in. We got our friend and my brother doing it. They were terrified at first then when we succeeded got happy as hell.

We used to have my wife buy one ticket at the drive-in while my brother and I hid under blankets in the back seat, gasping for air lol.. then we’d get out and enjoy da show! I won’t sneak into the drive-in anymore though. Its a local business that I want to see thrive as long as possible, as there aren’t many left on the planet anymore. Plus I discovered at a TV Production course in college that the kid in my class, his uncle owned the place. Years earlier in elementary school my friend for no reason slammed a stack of textbooks over the kids head and knocked him out. I felt bad for the kid. He just was off lol.

But I love the drive-in. Haven’t gone this season yet, waiting on the right movies.

And theaters use the 9/11 scare tactics as reasoning behind not letting you carry bags in. They say its for “security and safety” but they are simply doing it so you don’t bring your own snacks in. My wife always at least has a dollar store candy and soda in her purse. Gotta fight the power somehow haha
