It’s a view point of an artist who is a shitty person “behind the scenes”  relating to another artist who has the same issues. 

Expect a “miracles”-esque song in the future defending an artists’ art and to not care about the artists’ personal life…im talking R.kelly, magic Johnson, Paula Dean,  Kobe Bryant,  MJ etc. 

Sucks that artists get big headed and forget that sometimes the persons personal life makes their art more appealing…for example, you can say zug izland sold and gained more fans with the hatchetman stamp and violent J writing the lyrics, it got juggalos who only liked rap to atleast give it a spin.

I’d rather help ALL people in need, the reason they might be owed reparations would be because their families should have had more which would have lead to them having it now, so yes, it is unfair that they are in the situation they are now, BUT it’s unfair that EVERYONE born into a tough situation has what they have. So it’s much more fair to help everyone in need rather than just POC.  

A lot of them are born in tough situations specifically because of slavery and not getting the reparations their families were owed. Even though they are entitled and owed the reparations they are promised it’s just probably too far late for it to happen and the only way to help is by treating poverty as a whole.

I live in an area where every time a POC does anything they get special treatment because of it, it seems. If Smollet was white it would have been a big deal and he is getting a pass on this because he is black. Didn’t even know he’s gay. There r areas where it is predominently black  (Dorchester, Roxbury)and there is a shooting every day and it a black person shooting the gun 9 out of 10 times and because the world is so pc now it can’t even be brought up that the oerson shootingthe gun is black. All thats said is that it is a poor community. I grew up in the projects and there wasn’t a shooting every other day. This may come across as racist but i really am not. You can believe whatever u want. I’m going on stats. Look up the shooting percentage in the area i said and see if u can dispute the facts.  

Smollet didn’t get special treatment. It was actually other POC that called it bullshit before it was proven while white liberals tried defending him. He got a huge backlash. From everybody. Just wasn’t as loud because there was no controversy over calling him guilty because everybody agreed. Mel Gibson still has an active roll in Hollywood and he’s been much more racist than Smollet.

Stats don’t tell the whole story and that statistic is often times brought up by many people. Context means everything. When a white dude with a victim complex starts ranting about how colored people get special treatment (incarceration statistics tell a completely different story) while pointing out the crime statistic it’s definitely racist especially when it’s completely unprovoked. It’s literally KKK propaganda.

I didn’t know Smollet is getting out free. Smollet should be in jail.

I think the dude is racist because he pulls this rant out of his ass unprovoked. It is literally KKK propaganda. It’s him trying to make white people out to be victims of POC. Next thing you know he’s going to come up with racist conspiracy theories like Smollet was hired by Obama or something.

It’s a lot more nuanced than “Give people money because slavery”

 

You have to take into consideration the fact that after slavery the south enacted laws to keep black people in a REALLY shitty spot in society.

You have to keep in mind the fact that segregation was legal under the “separate but equal” was allowed due to the Supreme Court’s ruling on Plessy V Ferguson. This lasted until the ruling was reversed in Brown V Board of Education. That was in 1954. 

You have to remember that even AFTER THAT racist motherfuckers enacted laws to work through the loopholes to ensure that black people couldn’t have shit and would be in shitty situations.

 

A lot of people become shitty when surrounded with a shitty situation. This is exactly what ICP talks about in the song Taste. The societal injustices that lead to violence in ghettos.

 

Don’t forget that black people DON’T get special treatment. They’re actually more likely to go to prison and more likely to serve harsher sentences. They are punished more severely as early as elementary school. Not to mention that black men are far more likely to be victims of police brutality, or even killed by police whether they are armed or not.

I can show you the studies when I get home to my computer if you’d like to read them.  

Still though, reparations aren’t the answer, helping ALL of the poor is the moral answer here, because yeah, all that shit disadvantaged the generations being born in the projects today, but whatever the fuck resulted in the one poor ass white family in that same project is just as disadvantaging, and neither one is owed anything more than the other. 

I’m not gonna go into my rant about how to help the poor, but you get what I mean, reparations are not the answer, and EVEN IF they were what was morally right, it would cause such a gigantic upset in terms of race relations it would do SHIT TONS of harm. Help all the poor, not just one of any specific race.
