I don’t know if anyone noticed but J seems to be doped up pretty bad.. He forgot lyrics during lotus, rydas, the clowns, and nodded out during JCW. I know he has really bad knee’s and is about to go in for surgery but damn how much meds does the doc got him on? I’m actually concerned about the guy.. During the autograph signing all he said to anyone was “that’s dope”. Hopefully his knee surgery goes well and he can get off the pain meds.

I wasn’t trying to talk shit. I have mad respect for the man. He’s been doing this for 20+ years. They said he has to have surgery before they can go on tour. As said wrestlers and rock stars that jump off shit, which he used to be have pain. I’m sure his doc has him doped up so he can still perform until he gets surgery. Just seemed more out of it this year in particular.

Uh, no. When I got my autograph i asked how he was and he said he was trying to lose weight but that it was frustrating and hard, and that it makes him insecure. Then he asked if I listened to the new album, I said no I didn’t have a car at the gathering so I had no cd player and he told me that when he walks to lose weight he uses a cheap as disc man that he bought at target for like $15 or something. He said I should go get one, and bump the new album right away. I told him I’d wait until I got home but that i was excited for it.

I think I did doze off during BloodyMania…Does anyone know when the medley started? I racked out around 4:30am so I left the stage somewhere around 4
I didn’t realize you were there, we coulda chilled. I was falling asleep in my chair but was determined to make it to the Deadly Medly, which I did. I think it was around 5:30 ish? I do remember thinking that BloodyMania was lasting fucking forever.
As for doped up J, I think it would be fair to say he was tired as fuck. The Gathering must be exhausting for him, and he’s not exactly a spring chicken. Then again I’m always gonna give someone the benefit of the doubt, so what do I know.

Honestly with the crazy about of verses he has written over the years I’m surprised he can remember any of it.
He does sound very flat in his delivery, but he remembered the words for the most part.
I hope he can get back to his healthy stage back in 2002. Look at how quickly he made that happen with a year off after the first Dark Lotus album, he was even fatter than he is now, back then.

Sheeit… with the insane schedule those guys have at the GOTJ… dping seminars, Rudas, Lotus, ICP, sometimes doing guest spots on other shows like in past years with ABK and Esham, etc, and making general appearances on golf carts and walking around, trying to get sleep as much as possible, dealing with the stress of BEING ONE OF THE RUNNERS OF THE WHOLE EVENT that takes a full year to plan, remembering lyrics, rehearsing, staying clearheaded enough to stay on chedule, trying to mentally stay on top of drama and daily life stresses, being a father, husband, brother, “life partner” lol, friend, boss, human being, dealing with physical and emotional pain through prescriptions and gusto, handling the heat, crowd stimulation, and more, well, I can just say that I get tired from MUCH LESS than that.

I have never had trouble losing weight. It’s simple no matter what your body type or metabolism is. Just eat less and exercise more. It can’t get more simple than that.
Eating less can actually cause you to gain weight.
When you’re as big as I am, or j, it can be really, really difficult to lose weight. If you don’t consume enough calories, your body goes into fat storage mode and you start to feel run down.
You gotta eat the right kinds of foods, not eat less. And when you’re as fat as I am, often times the weight is connected to mental health issues and it’s clear that j’s is as well. So we become emotional, frustrated, self loathing and tired when we “eat less and exercise more”. And then we gain weight on top of it.
I took a spin class and a swimming class last year and gained 50lbs despite eating less and exercising more. So, you know, thanks for the advice but you’re wrong.
It was really human of j to talk about his frustration and insecurities and as a fat dude I really appreciated it. If you’ve been north of 300lbs and we’re able to lose it, that’s cool. But it’s not something easily done for many of us.
