I had friends who were pretty deep in the contest, I think. They were in the contest I just don’t know how long for. I think they went to that Gathering that year. But anyways I didn’t listen to any of them and had no take or vote in the contest. After I heard AMB won I listened to them and naw, not feeling it. Goofy white boys.

just one of about six things that went totally wrong with this contest.  and made it all, in the end, about as legit as mcdonalds monopoly.  

they shoulda just had the juggalos vote up the top five or so.  then, psy takes their own time [say, six months] to decide who they want.  

i mean, in retrospect its evident they wanted turncoat dirty.  but he didnt ‘win’.

pretty much the same here.  i wasnt exactly turned off, and i wouldnt say ‘horrible’, but close enough.  

and i entered it.  course, they came back to us sayin ‘we lost your shit, please re-enter.’  

to which the response [not mine, but hard for me to argue with] was, ‘thanks, but wed rather work for people who wont lose our shit.’  

im not too proud to quietly admit that i was more than a little jaded by the whole idea.  

the thing that really rubbed me the wrong way, above all the rest of the dumb shit, was that you had to sign away the rights to the songs you submitted.  i later heard that for those that resubmitted, the contracts were even stiffer.  

in the end, i was glad they lost our entry, cuz otherwise, psy would technically own three of our songs [not that it woulda made much of a difference].  

i should put those songs up here, just as a kick, to see what yall think of em.  shit, to see what i think of em, ten years later.
