Yea.  It’s interesting if you would like to hear his POV of went on behind the scenes during their touring.

Anyone read this yet?

Yeah, I bought it.  It’s a quick read, and would be even quicker if he had anyone proofread it.  The grammar and spelling in it is atrocious.  He doesn’t really follow a timeline (jumps around a lot), but I found it interesting just to hear the stories from the road from those days.  He brags quite a bit about how many girls he fucked…like ok, we get it.  Like I said though, it’s fun to see shit from someone on the inside’s perspective.

Side note: I actually printed out a copy of this and took it on a flight a year or so ago.  I accidentally forgot it in the seat pocket when we landed.  I wonder if whoever found it gave it a read?  ninja

It reads like he made a reddit post on his phone after every tour stop for several years, then took those and compiled them into a google doc as-is.

I’ve read it, and man oh man is it a goddamn mess. The spelling and grammar are fucked almost to the point of being incomprehensible, and that’s the least of its problems. Some chapters are in there multiple times. Like, word for word. Copy and paste. Some stories are in there multiple times but have little details changed each time. He’s constantly referring to people by name without explaining who they are, as if we’re supposed to fuckin know. It’s a very challenging read. There are a FEW stories worth knowing about, namely his point of view on the whole Majik Recordz debacle:

Long story short, ***according to Tom*** Majik Recordz was meant to be a place for Twiztid to do side projects like Samhein Witch Killaz and to sign new artists. Jamie, Paul, and Tom invested $3,000 each. Psychopathic was supportive. Twiztid starting hiring more people and draining the money. Twiztid was looking for their own distribution deal for themselves and for Majik (even though at this point Twiztid was still signed to Psychopathic) but none of the major labels were interested because Psychopathic and Alex Abbiss had burned a lot of bridges in the industry. So Twiztid decided to leave Psychopathic. But then Twiztid got cold feet about leaving and decided to come back, but Psychopathic didn’t want Tom around because they blamed him for Twiztid almost leaving. Tom kept the remaining $900 (or $1,500, depending on which chapter you’re reading…) because he was managing Twiztid during the Gathering that year and never got his manager’s cut for the merch they sold. So basically everyone hated him when it was all said and done.

Keep in mind that the version I just gave you there is WAY more coherent than the way Tom tells it. The best I can do is pull together as many details as I can from his rambling and try to make sense of it all.

If there’s one decent thing that the book is good for, it’s as a reference guide for all the tours that ICP went on while Tom was working there. It’s boring as fuck, but he basically goes venue by venue and says how many tickets were sold. It’s mind numbing, especially because he somehow remembers the most mundane facts about each place. “This venue had good sound but the lighting was bad.” “This place was small but the promoter was cool.” “This place had a good crowd but it was really hot that day.” <–these aren’t ver batim examples, but it’s just as fucking tedious as that. And that’s at its best. At its worst, it’s things like, “This city had hot girls but the food gave us all diarrhea,” or whatever. Anyone who read it will back me up on this.

But it does come in handy sometimes. I pull it up if there’s something specific about a specific tour that I need to remind myself about. Overall, is it worth it? Only if you NEED to know every little possible piece of Juggalo trivia available, as I do. Otherwise, you’ll want to shoot yourself in the head by the time you’re finished.
