I know this isn’t a new topic but since I’m fairly new to the forum I thought I’d start it anyway. I noticed allotta yall on here are hating on the mdp. Personally I been down with the wicked shit for almost 15 years now n I genuinely believe mdp is the best whit ice has dropped since the amazing jb . I thought they lost it with the calm and the tempest. BPB was okay. But half the tracks rant very good. There is a few tracks on their that r dope as Fuck tho : to catch a predator , in yo face, I found a body etc. I copped white pop the day it came out and I truly enjoy the whole album. It reminded me exactly why I first fell in love with icp. Some of the tracks on their r very different from other icp shit but for me it’ works. I’m curious as to why a lot of u really hating on it. It’s every hit as dope to me as abominationz. My favorite tracks r : night of the chainsaw bully blasta bazooka joey. Post your thoughts why its dope or why it sucks to you. Mcl

It’s cool that you like it, I just don’t get the same feeling as you when listening to it. I think it’s different from the older shit, but that’s not why I don’t like it as much. I love Night of the Chainsaw, that song reminds me of that old wicked shit. I can’t get into much else though. The chorus on Bazooka Joey killed it for me, which sucks because I was definetly feeling it before that, same with the chorus of faygo rain. First time I heard that stale ass shit I turned it down so my neighbors wouldn’t think I was a show tune dancin fag. And speaking of which, who dances with a bazooka? Ghetto rainbows I thought was the worst song they ever did, I’m embarassed to even listen to it. Me and you just have a difference of opinion, I don’t expect them to or want them to just keep making the same album over and over, but considering they’ve shown us what they can do, MDP was a major disappointment.

Well I've said this before in another topic but I'll say it again. Fundamentally MDP is the exact same format as all the other jokers cards. They have the songs that make you laugh, songs with unjustifiable violence, and songs that make you think. And I have always loved that format and there isn't any reason to fuck with it.
But for me personally the gusto just really isn't there anymore. I don't have that feeling deep in my gut when I listen to it. I know they worked super hard on it but it still seems phoned in to me.I did love the three you mentioned along with chris benoit to be fair.
Maybe some of us don't want to admit it, but we are simply growing out of icp's style. As much as it pains me I'll be the first to admit it. I didn't go into MDP thinking “ok BPB sucked and this will suck too”. But the magic just isn't there anymore for me. Does it mean im not a juggalo anymore? That is debatable

ummmm who gives a flying fuck what people think. i listen to every single form of music available. i dont discriminate when it comes to music. music is so diverse and amazing it deserves respect when it is good. if its country and the music is on point and the guy can sing or whatever u cant hate. i DO NOT like country but just cause i dont like it im not going to hate on it. same with rock, rap, hip hop,r&b, punk, folk, bluegrass, classical, metal, pop, gospel, etc…
now i fucking love mdp. icp's best since shangri-la or even bizaar/bizzar, imo. i can find enjoyment in everything they've released, even there shittiest releases(ff4, calm, tempest, imo) have atleast 3 or 4 great tracks. back to death pop. the intro reminded me of riddlebox sort of. the mighty death pop track scared me and i hated it first listen, now it has grown on me. i think bazooka joey's hook is the shit. shaggy was trying to get back to that senseless shaggs the clown retard stuff, plus i can picture him dancing wit a fcuking bazooka blowing shit up. who dances with a bazooka??? a wicked clown psychopath. i mean come on, who doesnt have a nutsack so they move real careful and slow??? nobody icp's shit hasnt made sense from day one. read the name again “INSANE clown posse”.

yeah i cosign this…
the only songs i liked from mdp are chris benoit (which grew on me), ghetto rainbows, & hate her to death.. the latter being the best imo.. the rest of the album i didnt care for.. imo its their weakest album yet & thats mainly cuz its also their weakest beat selection yet imo.. ive also grown to dislike more & more J's high pitched voice which he seemed to do allot on this record.. i wish he'd use his deep voice like he did in shooting stars which wasnt a bad track.. i honestly seemed to like the pop emporium more than the main album.. which i didnt even like that much…

That's another one. I absolutely loved the premise to “daisies”. That something beautiful can grow out of total desolation. The notion that no matter what there is always hope. Like I said the album isn't any different than the others as far as concepts go. It's just not the same for whatever reason

He’d the magic is definitely not there anymore and it makes me very sad. I remember going through he’ll to get shangrila , went to retarded abks CD release party and guess what, Chicago juggalo kno this, they didn’t have the fucking CD!!!!!? Wtf is that? So November 5th walked miles in the rain to cop the CD wit my boy..we both smoked some weed in the dark blacklight with our headphones and it was fucking truly, truly amazing. I had high hopes but not too high to be let down with even the title of ghetto rainbows pissed me off like someone said their asking to get made fun of fucking idiot assholes I’m seriously getting pissed, but yea kinda cool beat fucking terrible stupid song, I’m also getting sick as fuck of legs. Bazooka was stupid, stars was ok, daisies vocals too low bass to overwhelming and bad chorus, where’s God I really don’t kno how I feel, forever is ok, hate her is fucking amazing..what else? Idk overall I don’t listen to most of the songs. Blasta makes me feel like I’m a 7 yr old listening to ppl make music for a 7 yr old. The first 4 tracks r dope tho.
Idk I am very sad tho.

Yes! he always goes H.A.M on his gravel in the throat tracks. “truly alone” “the tower” “marsh lagoon” “in my room”. When he does this voice and is going all out Imo there isn't any artist out that can fuck with violent j.

I really think the reason most ninjas don't like new ICP releases is the fact that a lot of us are growing out of the ICP phase. Now I did like MDP and bumped that shit non-stop for the first month, but I can't tell you the last time I listened to it. As you listen to their new albums your like, “Man, this is the shit, so much different from their other releases.” However, after the “Eras” of the Joker's Cards pass you realize all the records are basically the same.
That's why Twiztid remains so fresh. No two records of theirs have been alike.
Really when I go to put on some ICP nowadays it's usually just the following albums getting the most rotation:
Shangri-La
Jeckel Bros.
The Calm

I liked TMDP,Although at first i looked for reason to hate it,There are a few tracks that just dont vibe with me,Ghetto rainbows and Skreem are about the only 2 i dont listen to,Chris Benoit is okay,Not something i listen to all the time,Once in a while tho,But as for the rest of it,Its good,But i dont know why or how anybody says the tempest was weak,I enjoyed it,It was like the second coming of the carnival in a sense,Although i wish they would have stuck with the original back story about the tempest being a storm instead of a roller coaster.I was actually geeked as fuck when i first heard it,My roomate brought it home it the day it came out,Popped it in the cd player and played 2 tracks from it,I was fuckin sold on that album,BPB was good all aside from Juggalo Island,Vera Lee,And Miracles,I just got way burned out on BPB after hearing it everywhere i went. All my homies were bumpin it in their cars,On their front porch,Everywhere. But yes there are some good tracks on TMDP,Its just not something i listen to on a regular basis,I do enjoy the outtakes tho,But one question i gotta ask is,Are the outro tracks all the same on all 3 versions of TMDP? I got the one about the airplane pilot crashing the plane,Is there others or is it all the same skit on all 3? Id like to know,Cuz id like to hear em all if there is a difference.

I liked it when I first listened to it but after a few listens I found it really boring. And that's my beef with ICP anymore. They're just boring. They're so PC with who they kill anymore where as back in the day a lot of it was just lols. Their storytelling ability sucks too and their creativity is all but gone. They play it safe with who they diss. Chris Brown and Dog The Bounty Hunter? Oh wow they're so insane! I also feel like they're too preachy. They make songs that aren't entertaining at all but make them for the sake of trying to teach the listener something (and to stroke their own ego trying to come off as 'deep'). Where as in their glory years, they would make even their emotional songs funny. It's like their quest to be taken soooo seriously and accepted has clouded their judgment of what this is really all about. Entertainment! ICP are just plain boring these days. Started with The Calm and even bringing back jokers cards doesn't change it.
I'd really like to sit down with them and ask them what their goals really are. Because their music isn't appealing to juggalos. It's not appealing to the mainstream which they crave. It's not really appealing to anybody. They don't get props like “THIS IS FUCKIN AWESOME OMG” anymore. Just people saying stuff like “well, it's better than…” or “best thing since…”. Just polite compliments, not sincere ones. Golf claps lol. It's sad really. I used to disagree with people who say they should retire but now I really think they should. If MDP truly took them 2 years to make, they're not going to get better going into their 40's. They're out of touch with what juggalos want. It's weird because Twiztid still delivers and knows what people want. But also add in J's weight and doesn't take his health seriously. He's not going to be good in the studio or on stage being obese like that. He sounds and moves like shit! And no homo but he looks like shit.Even his clown smile looks like shit lol.
A person really has to reach to take current ICP seriously.

Violent j has always been overweight
Nah not like this. Only back during B/B and TFTLP (not so coincidentally weak eras for his flow and stage presence too). Then again from like 2005 until today. Throughout the 90’s he never got huge where he couldn’t move or flow. Also for the 6th he lost the weight and he improved dramatically. In the book he said he'd never let himself go again because he cares about his health for life. That didn't last.
