In the skit at the end when Shaggy says “I’m out here with the june bugs and shit”.. does Detroit have alot of june bugs? Cuz those are crickets chirping in the background, not june bugs. Does shaggy think crickets and june bugs are the same thing?

I think there are two different bugs called june bugs. It might be regional. In my area june bugs are fat round dumb fuckin bugs that don’t make any noise. In other parts of the country they are cicadas, which chirp like crickets.

I might be over thinking it a bit much. I mean he says he’s out there with the june bugs and shit, the sound could be crickets which he’s calling shit.

We get both Cicadas and the traditional June bug in the Detroit area. The June bugs are annoying and usually just keep flying into your porch light or screen door and falling over on the ground. I have to agree about the availability of a proper sample as well, before the digital age and online availability samples were kinda limited.
