I am not a big fan of his posts – they aren’t about things in which I have interest. But he is not the only member on here that has posts I don’t really like. My job requires me to not use my personal preference, bias, or beliefs in official moderation tasks. 

I have spent years on 8chan and 4chan. I have learned to scroll through the massive amounts of slide posts, pointless gratuitous porn posts, bait posts, and concern based posts. It usually turns out that when such posts are ignored and not engaged, the poster either changes behavior or moves on to other boards. This works for most regular posters on the anon sites with the exception being the posts from the professional shills that @codemonkey determined were coming from IPs associated with ShareBlue and other “progressive” media organizer groups. Those paid shills post the most racist shit I have ever seen and then those posts get quoted by other “progressive” news sites to “prove” how bad the people who post on chans are. … sorry and not sorry for going off topic a bit …

That being said, I doubt he is paid opposition. He may not even be trying to spam. He may be posting things he has a true interest in. I have no idea what the case may be. If you don’t like his behavior on here, you have the option to not respond. If he is a troll then the worst thing you can do is feed the behavior by responding.   

Reddit and 4Chan are large communities which are open utilized by a large portion of the internet.  FLH has a couple dozen active members, none of which are pleased by what this user is posting.  That’s in addition to his name which has rubbed several people the wrong way.

While it may not be “spamming” in the sense that he’s posting to the correct topics (barely) and not advertising unwanted content, I think most of us agree that his act of making dozens of posts a day wherein he says a bunch of ALL CAPS nonsense qualifies.

Spam – “send the same message indiscriminately to (large numbers of recipients) on the Internet.”  That’s basically the gist of what he does regularly.  By “large numbers,” I am referring to the fact that he’s doing so to every active member, as you cannot click on the page without seeing the inane posts, and they often repeat themselves in other topics.  The way the site is structured, the topic that comes to the top is the one that is most recently updated.  If this user posts anything (as he often does), his posts come to the very top.  Hovering over the link to bring up the most recent page gives you his name and the first few lines of what he said, and then you have to dodge all kinds of posts to see if anything worthwhile has been said in that topic.  If it’s an older topic, you click in the name of it and it takes you to the front page.  You click to the last page and biggity bam, it’s ALL CAPS that you can’t not see.  That’s what’s annoying about it.

I’d be willing to bet he’s more than aware that what he’s doing is annoying and intentional.  Would you be opposed to creating a poll on whether or not to keep him?  You should be able to monitor it to make sure it’s not being influenced by multiple votes and that it’s not being inflated by newly created accounts which were created just to vote on that topic.

Yes, I would be opposed to it. I am not a fan of getting rid of users for any reason and have only done so at @scottied ‘s request since he owns the board. BUT there is nothing stopping you or anyone else from creating a poll and I will monitor and report what I see on the backend with the results of any poll that I am asked to monitor by any user. Again, I am opposed to this sort of thing but as a moderator I will accurately report the findings.
