That was a pretty good track..
When E&J collaborate they tend to go off, like they were inspired by one another to come correct..
that new Esham article referred to ICP as his labelmates.. they need to drop a new SV album & Esham album on Psy.. I think it’d help inspire them & gain momentum for their creativity & songwriting..

Esham does indeed ignite some kind of creative fire under Joe Bruce’s anus chasm, fo sho. I actually think that the three of them are a wonderful mix.
However, I notice a repeating theme:
☆ – Shaggy on choruses only, but no raps
☆ – Homophobic callback lyrics
Funk with these two constants and switch em up and we will have a doper album from Soopa Villainz. I think Shaggy is an excellent screamer and chorus man, and scratcher. But he deserves some verses as well. Even in a lesser amount, but definitely more Shaggy words. And the homophobic verse was probably just a throwback to their original material. J always acts homophobic when Esham is around.
90% of listeners didnt love the “super hero” theme. I didnt mind it, but the album “Furious” (which I like overall) was so formulaic that it could sound off-putting. Esham raps, Lavel raps, J raps. Shaggy screams. Cuts some records. Not ONE Mr. Club verse.

Yeah I was hoping Shaggy would finally get to rap properly on a new SV project. But the way I imagine it is E & J in the studio coming up with everything from song concepts, picking beats and whatnot, showing each other the verses they came up with and experiencing this creative high, totally in the zone, and then going “oh shit, we gotta cramp Shaggy in here somewhere”. So instead of writing a verse for him they just pop him on the hook. If the whole album is like that track (provided we even get a whole album, fingers crossed though) it’s really an E & J dish with Shaggy on the side.
I thought it was kinda funny how J now puts a disclaimer in front of his homophobic shit “If you not homosexual then quit being gay”… I Guess that’s progress?
Also, is it just me or is J’s new(ish) slur that you hear in recent interviews really noticeable on this one and The Dark? I didn’t notice it on FFF as much. What causes that? Loose dentures? (Brotha Lynch Hung and Lord Infamous developed something similar at some point, but in their cases it was much more striking and I think it was an aftereffect of a stroke.)

Yes, this is the new era of “Progressive(-er) Insane Clowns”. Reminds me of that Simpsons episode where Homer fears Bart is becoming gay, and he eventually (almost) learns how to tolerate and understand homosexuals… Marge says to the gay man “enjoy it; this is as good as it gets” when Homer attempts to be friendly.
Didn’t notice the slur but now I won’t ever be able not to be on the alert for it. Thanks for that, by the way lol.
I think I may have ruined some Monoxide for yall by coining his “yodeling” during live performances. People have told me that now they can’t unhear it. Maybe Mono has caught word or stalked this site and is going to be more conscious of it, who knows? Poor guys… we don’t mean to nitpick. We are just making observations. They are the ones doing the hard work and putting their energy out there for us to enjoy. I honestly don’t care if Mono yodels every other concert or if J still cant quite bring himself to drop the gay raps. Be yourselves, Mr. Neckcutta and Mr. Chainsmoker. Fly, peacocks. Fly.

this is definitely the best Esham ive heard in years. ive hated his last..fuck 5 albums.
J killed it, but unfortunately he was using his obnoxious Death Pop flow. Maybe not full on, but he was channeling it enough for me to cringe a little. That squeaky sounding shit is fuckin grating. I would prefer his flow like on “Seriously Hilarious”. That shit is cold as fuck.
Overall its good tho.

I noticed his “balloon full of crack smoke and helium” flow was present lol… definitely a weird Death Pop experimental sound. And I love most of that album.

Right. That’s the episode John Waters is in, correct? I love that dude.

I agree with that so much. I really can’t stand that style. That has almost ruined whole eras for me.
I’ve noticed that it seems to coincide with his weight. At least I convinced myself to believe that. Around FFF he had lost a shit ton of weight and he didn’t sound like that for the most part. But now he seems to have gained quite a few again. Maybe he’s really just out of breath?

Yep. Great episode. Made my dad laugh all throughout it and he hates The Simpsons.
J had a great vocal peak during the Wraith era, in my opinion. Although arguments can be made for Riddlebox era through Jeckel.

Yeah id have to say Wraith era J is the best. Vocally and lyrically. The first song that comes to mind is “Some Fuckin How.”
“We roll with the hatchet like nuns roll with church. And to us the hatchet means more than some merch.”
Also since it was brought up, yodeling Monoxide is awesome lol. I feel like he gets so hype during shows that he thinks hes belting out some arena rock shit. And cant help but hold that note way longer than it needed to be. its all good tho. We all know Mono just stole that yodel from Shaggys infamously bad yodel at the start of “She Was”. Shaggy has had more than a few blemishes, but I just cant understand why they would leave that in the song.

“Some Fuckin How” definitely comes to mind. Also,
All of “Wizard of the Hood”
His verse on “Sticky Icky Situations”
“Bloody Bitch Dead”
“My Shine”
Lots of those E&J tracks like “Migraine Headache” and “Silence of the Hams”
Such a good time that I don’t think many if us even realized it at the time.

Riddlebox era through Jeckel.
I read in a YouTube comment that in Riddlebox and Milenko they turned the pitch slightly higher on the voices. and that could totally be true I checked once and it sounded how they normally do on other albums.

Dope that you experimented and found that shit! Maybe it was to make them sound more otherworldly or something. It worked. Studio magic.
