So this was a slightly interesting revelation that happened on the Shaggy and the Creep podcast on Youtube this week.
Shaggy’s wife was in the chat and told us that Shaggy did one of those Ancestry.com DNA tests and found out he isn’t part Native Indian and turns out it was just a myth told by someone in his family tree.
I think the whole part Native Indian thing was even mentioned in Behind the Paint. It’s been so long since I read it I can’t remember.
Apparently he has a lot of Polish DNA though. LOL
So there you go.

That being said, Ancestry and 23andMe and all those genetics testing sites can produced wildly different results.
On a personal note, my mom was adopted and never was allowed to know who her parents were or what her name was. The law that stated that has just gotten overturned last year, so she requested her birth certificate and info… it was supposed to arrive in April but COVID delayed it. She finally received her real name given at birth last week! So we are currently doing lots of research and finding out about the side of our family that we had ZERO info about our whole life. It’s very exciting and not to sway the convo but I thought it was fitting for the subject.
She discovered that she has a sibling too. Maybe Shaggs is her little brother ahahahah
