Eligibility
To be eligible for induction as an artist (as a performer, composer, or musician) into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, the artist must have released a record, in the generally accepted sense of that phrase, at least 25 years prior to the year of induction; and have demonstrated unquestionable musical excellence. in 2017 ICP will be officially eligible to be considered eligible for the rock and roll hall of fame.
It’ll never happen because of of the second criteria of “demonstrated unquestionable musical excellence” but still. How fresh would that be? And in the year ’17 too? that’d be awesome.

It is. Like the Oscars and so forth. A way from the industry elite to pat itself on their backs. But I think it’d be kinda hilarious to get someone like ICP in.

and as bad as the oscars, the emmys, and especially the grammys are, the rock n roll hall of fame is worse than all of em put together. really.

all the same reasons [its corrupted, it adheres to no particular standards, its way too subjective, there is no transparency at all, it is entirely responsive to hidden agendas and ulterior motives, they overlook all kinds of people, the selection process is arbitrary… the list goes on], just a matter of degrees.
on the ‘this is a joke’ scale, the oscars are about a four, the rock n roll hall of fame is about a nine. same flaws, with greater intensity.

First off I will start of by saying I think Kayne is one of the biggest idiots in hollywood, but with that being said I think in a lot of cases you have to be a bit crazy to come up with some awesome artistic shit… which I feel the dude could be a genius at times when it comes to his music. But if you look at his early work you’ll see really quickly how bad he sold out. quite a shame.

It’s really easy to say that materialism is wrong when you don’t have the money, but now that he’s got it he can’t help himself. Thus New Slaves. Plus, he kind of went crazy when his mother died. But no, he never sold out. He didn’t change to become bigger, he just got bigger and it changed him.

Yeah, I’m a fan so I research sometimes.
I was thinking about it earlier on Tech N9ne. A lot of people complain about him becoming too egotistical but how could you not when you’ve accomplished what he has accomplished? It’s a lot to be proud of. And I’m sure most of them would act the same, if not worse.
