I was going to just combine all of the review threads into one big giant one…..but I just don’t feel like it.
So, here is a link to my review and some of the photos I shot during the show.

FYI: if you click on most of the photos they will lead you to my website which has more photos from the show.

Awesome review as usual PRJ. I like the individual review threads. Gives every ninja a place to be original and type up something dope.
Thanks. I honestly was just going to add mine to the first review thread, but by the time I got around to posting it….there was already a couple more..so I figured I might as well make another one.

ICP Riddlebox Tour Review – Richmond VA, 5/14
I can’t start a new thread for some reason, so Imma put my review here.
It feels kinda stupid to “review” ICP playing the Riddlebox album in its entirety. Of course it was the shit, what the fuck else could it possibly be? They use the title track to take the stage, and then it’s right into the standards The Show Must Go On and Chicken Huntin, which can’t help but get the crowd hyped up. People got extra live for Dead Body Man too. The ones that worked the best live that I wouldn’t have expected were 3 rings, and most of all 12. Now 12 is a slow jam which is normally a necessary evil at shows, but Jay introduced it as being about revenge, and shit it just worked. Killing Fields and Evil Eye were the two biggest disappointments, both are great songs but didn’t come across that well live. When I’m Comin Home came on, well I started feelin like I was comin home, and I couldn’t tell you what was going on with anyone else but I’d bet they was having a great time..
Mad mad mad props to the Richmond Juggalos and the crowd at the show. I was going solo, and some ninjas in the parking starting talking to me, gave me some cotton candy faygo mixed with cotton candy vodka (genius- who says Juggalos are dumb, right?), kicked it with me for a bit and were just generally cool. Very much appreciate it Mike, Juggalette Britt, and the guy who’s name sounds like Cincinatti, hope I’ll catch ya at the Gathering.
Inside the venue, the Broadberry, this was definitely going to be a different ICP experience. The venue was much smaller than normal- maybe 300 people there, about half what I’d seen the last time in Philly, and oddly shaped. The venue was real narrow, the same width of the stage all the way back but then it had another part where you could stand to the right of the stage where the bathrooms were. So it was like you had to push yourself up to the front to take a leak. Would be a good venue for smaller shows, but not a good venue when it was sold out like it was tonight.
The set and lineup were minimal. Few opening bands- two local openers, then Young Wicked, and ICP was on by about 9 PM. No real set just a banner. And the only real theatrics I can remember *spoiler alert* was the Cemetary Girl monster dancing with J, and all the Lette’s getting up on stage for Sumpin Sumpin. Still, there something very cool about seeing ICP play a show that was probabyl just like they plaid one 25 years ago. I’d love to hear J interviewed aboout the tour
The crowd was LIT. Younger than most I’ve seen, but unlike most young Juggalos they were all reppin the Hatchet, very little Twiztid shit- there’s hope for the future! People knew all the words, people moshed, people moshed in way that wasn’t cool and got quickly regulated, etc. Everybody just seemed super uhappy to be there, no drama, no static. I didn’t\ee any too-fucked-up girls crying and screaming or drooling, and I didn’t see any and drunk ass boys throwin punches that didn’t need to be thrown.
So, no doubt the show was dope and well worth driving 2 hours each way for. I will say I had less fun overall at that show than others. But I think that’s almost entirely atrritbutable to the fact that I had to stay sober to drive home, and also that this was my 4th ICP show in the last 6 months. That’s a lot, and by the fourth I wasn’t getting as amped as I was for the first.
Still though, great show.
