Having lost friends to heroin, I empathize. Blaming tragedy completely on drugs seems like a shortcut to thinking, though. Things like personal choice and genetic predisposition to addiction might be part of the mix, too. I hope for the best for your friend.

drugs are bad peoplefor instance one of my childhood friends started smoking crack a few years ago, this summer be broke his leg and because smoked so much crack did not renew his medicare card and never went to fix his broken leg it got infected now he has permanent damage and has to walk with a cane for life and is just 30 years old.
he now spends his days limping around the city bumming cash from people and looking for cans to redeem for his crack habit
he did not start smoking crack he started by smoking weed
the gateway drug

and also who put a gun in his mouth and told him to smoke crack? noone. thats who. dont blame weed because your friends life sucked that much he had to turn to crack. because thats why people do it. they are unfufilled and think that their lives suck.
weed isnt a gateway drug.
yeah if you smoke too much it will fuck up your brain (among other things) but taken in moderation its a fantastic medication.
i have no sympathy for drug abusers. none at all.
because if grandma is doing it, it must be good!

So you guys do like my find.
And i didnt do any drug cuz of weed. If anything alcohol was my gateway drug. I always did drugs out of strait curiosity and experimentation. Also cuz of what krunk said played a part. Also growing up in the ghetto plays a part. I always feel like i can make anything my addiction. Like i know its in my genetics and character. But i quit it all and somehow survived. But most people dont so im grateful.
Im just glad my night blindness is cured…….
Back to binge watching tv and eating vast amounts of salt. Glad i dont do meth anymore…..

Amen to that. While some people can smoke pot, or, even do hard drugs, but never get addicted to either, its all about choices, your DNA makeup – whether or not you are predisposed to addictive behavior/personality. Also, one can argue that who you do hang around with could also be a factor as well. Once you move to the harder drugs, get addicted, your soul has been stolen and all that remains is a hollow shell of what was once an amazing person. Legal or even illegal drugs, depending on how you use or even abuse them, is one big never ending circle, that some sadly never are able to get out of19
