FLH: Alright. So let’s talk about music today. What do you guys think about Eminem mentioning you guys positively on his new LP?
Violent J: Fuckin dope, man! An honor, man.
Shaggy 2 Dope: Yeah! But it’s like we still get that so much from so many different angles: “What’s up with the Eminem beef?” God, that was in 1999. And was it for real when it was out there? Yeah it was for real, you know? But people grow up. Wounds heal. And it’s like you might have beef with somebody when you’re in high school. Once you’re a grown-ass man, it’s like: “What were we beefing over?” And it was what it was. But now it’s just totally different. Ain’t no beef really now.
Violent J: I think it’s fucking dope he gave us those shout-outs. That really said something to me. I don’t know what that means. Are we on his mind or what? But that just really, really blew my mind, I’ll tell you that much, man.
FLH: ICP and Eminem collab in the future possibly?
Violent J: I’d do it!
Shaggy 2 Dope: That’d be totally up to him.
All: [Laughing]
Shaggy 2 Dope: That ball’s up in his court, know what I’m saying.
So glad they asked my question! Did I just start the ball rolling on a collab?
If so, we all owe you a Coke.

Does anyone else think they sound really… idk what the right word is… defeated, maybe, in this interview? Like, when I listen to it, it sounds like two middle-aged men who have had a bunch of bad shit happen to them all at the same time (FBI bullshit, tapering sales, low gotj turnout, Twiztid leaving, changing record industry, Shaggy’s legal troubles, both of their bodies starting to give out on them, J’s fitness) and they are just feeling thrown around. I can hear this in Violent J’s voice I feel. I honestly think the GOTJ changing locations was a great thing for Psychopathic, they needed the freshness and so far it is working.
I am hoping this will be a great year for Psychopathic and am willing to support them provided the music isn’t straight poopy. I feel Big Hoodoo could make a great record, Boondox has already proven himself to me. I would support Zug, and honestly if AMB was consistent I might feel some of their stuff. I wish ABK was back in his HW/DH days, but I bet he can still put out good product. But honestly, just like they alluded to, this who operation (now more than ever) hinges on ICP. They have to COME CORRECT on this new Joker’s Card, or I think things will get even worse.
I have faith in them, I think they can make a phenomenal album. I think the idea of supergroups is great! I think they idea of more projects like The Road and WotH is great! I just hope that these are legitimate plans that are being put into fruition rather than the smoke that we know Violent J tends to blow.

Lol Pigg has anyone ever told you that you have a propensity (<— word of the day, knowboutit) for looking to deeply into shit? Lol in a good way. Like saying ICP looked sad between ICPT and such and now saying they sound defeated. I think they sound hyped as fuck for what 2014 is gonna bring. They got totally shit on in ’13 and now it’s a fresh new day so to speak. The way they worded some of them answers really reflects how poorly Billy is running shit. I mean fucking ICP themselves aren’t even really in the loop on when shit is dropping, that being said I can respect them keeping true to their homies and sticking with the clique. even if it is to a fault. This interview got me real excited for what 2014 has in store for Psy. New AMB, New Boondox, The box set, PSY The Videos 2, possibly new HooDoo, possibly New ICP, New Gathering, a solid chance of sticking it to the FBI, alll that. And I’m excited to be around for this new flavor in juggalo history.

Yeah I can be way over-analytical at times. That’s why I like smoking, because it actually makes me stupid for a while lol. Not saying that I am this overly-intelligent person or anything, but I just think way too much, about everything, all of the time. It’s like my mind hops around and makes strange connections and I don’t know how to stop it haha.
I wasn’t saying they look sad, the guy in the video was saying they look and act sad.
I am just trying to think how these dudes look at it. They have been in the game for as long as I have been alive, they are (physically) past their prime, and they had a really shitty year in 2013. I am trying to keep it positive though, I am excited for what Psy brings. If they would put those jerseys from hatchetgear on the webstore, I would buy at least one of them. And I have never bought a jersey in my life!
Also, I didn’t know what that word meant, but I used context clues (i.e. the situation in which he was using the word, and the other words around it) to figure out what it meant. Know about it, motherfuckers!

I only read it and didn’t listen to it, but I’m sure they had a natural, healthy enough mix of fatigue and excitement in their voices and deneanors. They have lived hard and work like mules. They wrestled and had surgeries and smoked n drank n boned n traveled n flew n drank Nyquil n dealt with a mental stress the likes of which none of us have ever experienced n raised kids n got sick n did shows n etc etc etc…. they’re tired but still having fun. Like my Old, Dangerous ass.

their old interviews were like wrestling interviews all gimmicked out.. after the 6th dropped they stopped doing that & started doing the shoot style interviews wanting to be taken seriously..
This. Though I really do wish they didn’t.
Some of their old interviews would have me fucking rolling. There was one from around when the sixth dropped, where they keep going on tangents about the fact that the station’s premiering a song of Ja Rule and Bobby Brown.
“OH MY GOD. OH MY GOD. BOBBY BROWN’S ALIVE? AND HE’S SINGIN’ WITH FROG? WHAT THE HELL’S JA RULE GONNA DO IN THAT SONG? BAAAYBAAYYYYYY I ONLY WANNA BE WITH YOOOUUUUU! YOU CAN FRONT ALL YOU WANT BUT JA RULE SOUNDS LIKE HE’S SUCKIN’ ON HOT COALS! HE’S SIPPIN’ GASOLINE SLURPEES! HE’S ALL OUT IN THE RAIN…I’M GONNA MAKE A MUSIC VIDEO OF ME OUT IN THE RAIN, RIPPING MY SHIRT OFF LIKE “OH! I GET SO WET!”
“Uh, so, you guys are gonna be at Spooky World tonigh–“
“WHO CARES!? BOBBY BROWN AND JA RULE!? PLAY THAT RIGHT NOW!”
I still listen to that shit and die.

I truly believe that those old interviews and such, that the fellas truly were a touch psychotic. Like 80% real not-giving-a-flapjack crazy people. Matter of fact when I first met them in 2000, J was screaming nonsensical shit at some juggs and I truly thought his mind had snapped. I think the excitement of them getting bigger and more renowned, plus just being raised around Detroit, made those two true lunatics. I absolutely loved those old videos and such. I miss it too, but damn those guys would’ve had an aneurysm or killed someone by now lol.. they almost have. Good old smash with the microphone stomp you at waffle house get stabbed n soil your draws fun!

defeated seems like a good word to use.icp (w/an emphasis on J) haven’t had the “magic” or energy musically or in interviews for over a decade…if you compare any icp interview since they’re last appearance on the howard stern show to everything since then…the decline in honesty, entertainment, and overall positive energy/happiness is blatant. i would argue that their interviews on the stern show back in the day are the most enjoyable interviews to listen to in the history of music…nowadays they just go through the motions and try to conform to typical question/answers (<—icp theatre)
only had a chance to listen to about half of this interview, but was shocked by their answer to the question about the joker card boxset…did this blow anyone else’s mind???…they pretty much admitted that they are completely out of the loop w/wtf is going on @ psychopathic and have zero interest in the business/merchandising anymore.how the fuck could they (maybe it could be expected from shaggy…but J???) be under the impression that the boxset has been released?they weren’t curious to check on the sales numbers?never intended to promote it in any way?…thats crazy to me.kinda alarming & really telling to the current state of psychopathic
