I'll bet you 5 cheeseburgers that Blahzay Roze is in the video. Apparently the song is about her (not sure how true that is).
I mean given its one of the more openly misogynistic "love songs" ive heard in a while and shes the girl who gave J a headshot for a record contract it doesnt surprise me

Is it though? Lookin at the lyrics directly it appears to be on par with Halls of Illusions in regards to intent (not production though).
It goes back and forth between some dickhead that doesn't see what a blessing it is to have someone love you, talking about the blessings, followed by lyrics about being left, and ending with idea that love has been replaced with weeds and decay.

Anyway, I don't really get all the hate Zay (yeah, that's right, I'm shortening it because I'm sick of writing her whole name out, despite me taking the time to write out this much longer sentence just so I never had to do it again) gets. There are loads of worse rappers, especially horror-core rappers (juggaclone rappers, especially). I've heard she struggles with interpersonal issues but don't we all. Until she says something unforgivably fucked up (and maintains such a position), I can't really imagine siding with all the hate. Her previous material has been meh, but has potential. The whole "record deal and chill" meme wears a bit thin; more than likely there was just an overall manic whirlwind of optimism between the two instead of some deviously planned manipulation on either side.
Half the time J's questionable (or rushed) decisions are tied to his bouts of ecstatic (manic?) optimism.
Red flags always go off when J really, really hypes something for me now because I recognize the pattern as being different than his normal hyping.

I'm just hoping this video is dope because I haven't really felt any music videos for years now (I think the last one I vibed with was "The People").

It surely is misogynistic. Because what makes them "queens" according to the lyrics? It's sticking by their shitty boyfriend/husband no matter what an ass he is. All it's trying to do is teach men to appreciate their girl's submissiveness. Their status of being a "queen" depends entirely on how useful they are to the guys. The chorus is a warning, like "you might eventually lose this if you overdo it". But the verses describe what it is that might be lost, and that's a toxic relationship in which a codependent "queen" does everything for her narcissistic boyfriend. This is what's worth keeping, according to the song.
Besides, it just reeks of the Madonna/Whore complex. Women are portrayed as these angelic creatures of pure sweetness. As long as they are completely submissive and behave exactly the way they are expected to behave, of course. If not, they are nothing but nasty hoes. Check the lyrics for "Loyalty" (off Lure) for that side.

T.O.s got it exactly right. It's misogynistic because the portrayal if "queens" is entirely dependant on her value to the man. She has no inherent value beyond what she can do for you in this songs eyes
Now im not saying J or shaggy are misogynistic or treat women like this in their day to day. But it Does show a kind of narcissistic inability to understand anyone except yourself.
Compare it Homies. "Women are great because they suck dick and days pretty cool. And they don't care if I'm a slob" vs "look at all the dope shit you and your homies did together"

Gotcha. I thought the exact same thing through the first hearing of it, but someone explained to me it could be the opposite, that the song isn't from the perspective of a moral high ground, but instead of a moral low ground.
That's it's not about how people SHOULD think, but about how idiots HAVE thought (which is why I compared it to Halls of Illusions), which lead to the "queens" leaving. A criticism of shitty boyfriends.
But yeah, giving is a second listening, it appears to have a high/light energy chorus, which is usually a sign it's something they're promoting instead of criticizing/outing. I didn't really like the album so I didn't really pay too much attention to it, but I guess I didn't want to believe J/Shaggs were that clueless.
Yeah. I think you're right.

Personally when I heard about the album originally I thought the theme (loyalty) was inspired by the hurt from MNE artists and Twiztid leaving Psychopathic. No one else has said it yet (that I'm aware of), but I think the "flowers" (Wicked Vic the Weed, Pug Ugly the Stink Bud, and Woh the Weepin Weirdo) were based on Twizted and their manager George (or Otis).

The seeds of Yum Yum are each based off of the members of the old detroit rap group, Bedlam.

Good to know. I'm familiar with Prozak and I've heard of Bedlam but I didn't make the connection. I'm mostly removed from everything these days. I always appreciate corrective information though; better to be corrected than persistently wrong. Two of the faces just reminded me of Jamie and Paul and the Loyalty theme from Lure just seemed too coincidental.

Maybe we'll find out soon.
The album's booklet mentioned three additional EPs that will be released in 2022 (Wicked Vic the Weed, Pug Ugly the Stink Bud, and Woh the Weepin Weirdo).
My guess is that they'll be guest rappers on the EPs voicing the characters themselves.

As far as I know, it's just a nod to an old school detroit rap group that was playing around the same time as HOK and ICP, and it consisted of Prozak and Madness (Madness is still cool with ICP)
Plus, it's a dope look they had.
So much of ICP's stuff is derivative of already existing things, so I don't know why it would be surprising.

So is this actually true, like did J or Shaggy acknowledge this somewhere? Or, is this just an observation you had noticing the similarities? It's a great observation if so but possibly just a coincidence.

I think that I saw this in MC Lars' review of Yum Yum Bedlam on Hatchet Chat, them mentioning how the seeds look basically exactly like Bedlam and whatnot, it blew my mind and they're so similar I don't see how they couldn't be inspired by the look Bedlam had.
I don't think ICP would ever admit to taking an idea from somewhere else, like Shaggy just said on the last palcast that The Great Milenko wasn't inspired at all by the wrestler Boris "The Great" Malenko, which we all know is total bullshit, there's no way that could be a coincidence
