Do you need a daily reminder that they’re risking their entire fortune to make sure Juggalos are taken off the gang list? And they’re still releasing music and a yearly festival, yearly halloween party, yearly new years party, yearly christmas party, yearly “we made up our own holiday for you” party, random charity benefits, and an entire wrestling promotion, ya fucking ingrates, and you’re mad about shit they can’t control.

…They lose money on the gathering EVERY year.
From the 4/11/2014 Hatchet Herald
I also wanted to make it clear that we at Psychopathic very rarely ever make money at the Gathering. We strive hard every year in an attempt to break even but often lose money at the end. Our main goal and purpose for putting on the Gathering is solely to provide a dope ass setting for our family to reunite each year, escape the confines of the outside word and be able to have the time of their lives. Therefore, I ask that ninjas help us by refraining from vandalism, which seriously hurts us financially.

Sony lost billions of dollars on Playstation 3.
They made Playstation 4.
It’s more a big picture thing than, “Does each thing we do bring us money?”
The gathering is a huge source of publicity for them as well. On the business end, if they stopped that, they’d lose a lot of relevance in pop culture.
The product to platform argument that is the explanation behind making a product that loses money in order to recoup on the selling of the other items that interface with that platform doesn’t really apply to Psychopathic in the same manner it does to Sony. Whilst I do not believe they are losing money on the gathering…it is no cash cow and it is a labor of love most definatley…but im thinking they have to at least break even…Only way to know is to look at the balance sheets and knowing PSY they are most likely written on bar room napkins in crayon.
On the other hand your argument about it being a huge publicity source I agree with entirely. In my opinion it got out of hand around the time Sugar Slam came into the picture and Jumpsteady left it…Sugar fancies herself as a promoter so that might be why the A and B list shit ratcheted up so much…she did go to high school with Tila Tequila if I remember that interview with her I read a bit back…so thats where that came from…
With Jump back things seem better…Im glad hes back…

From the one time I briefly spoke to her, she seems incredibly cool. But, as I’ve said before, when they write things for her and Clay to yell awkwardly at the camera…it’s an issue.
I agree that it’s excruciating to watch, even alone lol… but J & Shaggs have been onto something with the way they present their infomercials. They know how to garner attention, negative or positive, through things like “Miracles”, the infomercials, and such.
But yes I’d love something different. The simple newscasting one with just J & Shaggs last year was a relief. Less embarassing by a wide margin.
