Even though from the stories I heard about Alex Abyss starving Jumpsteady out and forcing them to shut the whole thing down completely did they ever officially sign anyone to the label or did it die before they had the chance cuz even though I’ve been down since Tales From The Lotus Pod I was a teenager when they were doing this and the web was still new to me and i didn’t know how to search it right back then only way I knew who was on the main roster then was by the music but yea… Did they ever sign anybody and if so who? And do yall think they’re gonna possibly bring it back cuz of them glorifying it on thr most recent Juggalo Show and if so who you think they’ll sign or who do you hope they sign? My number one would be Dope D.O.D. them boys are sick imo lol.

I was watching Europathic like a hawk when it was announced, but nothing was ever official as far as signed talent went. (If I’m wrong about this, please feel free to correct me)

From what I’ve gathered, Europathic was meant to begin as a two phase operation, with phase 1 being a big marketing and merch push for ICP over there to open up the market, followed by the signing of unique talent. This came just ahead of the decision to splinter Psychopathic into mainstream oriented rock and rap sublabels (Ax’n’Smash and Urban Music Zone entertainment, respectively), the decision of Alex Abiss. The former became the new home of Zug Izland, the latter sporting MC Breed as their flagship artist.

To this day I consider this to be one of the biggest disasters in Psychopathic history. The label’s focus on pushing MC Breed over offering bigger support for Esham became one of the decisive factors for E’s exodus from the label. Zug Island’s 3:33 was marketed on insaneclownposse.com, but when it dropped there was no sign of a Hatchetman. There was also a radio push for it (the single was actually playing in the Best Buy when I went to cop it, which tripped me out). This might alienated the core audience. For all the effort, Breed’s debut was a legendary disaster, allegedly not even breaking 3 figure sales on its first day. The irony is, Breed might have done just fine signed to Psychopathic proper and touring with the fledgling Strange Music. Branding is a powerful thing.

Meanwhile, Jumpsteady was heading Europathic, whose resources were tied directly to Psychopathic stateside, with no coherent marching orders beyond a vauge business plan and a gross underestimation of the cost of doing business in a foreign country. This was no fault of Rob’s, as the capital was tied to Alex taking direct action in the form of cutting checks for payroll and the like. Weekly meetings by phone with Alex were part of the plan, but as these various endeavours went on, the corrospendence dwindled and eventually ceased, along with the checks. This forced Rob to pay the later expenses out of his own pocket, and likely influenced his decision to move away from the business for a handful of years to focus on another career. Europathic shuttered its doors after a year or so.

If I got any of that wrong, let me know. My bad about the book report. I always found this period of Juggalo history hella strange and interesting.

I applied for a job at Europathic soon after they announced it which fortunately for myself, I did not get. Their HQ was around a 30 minutes drive from where I lived at the time…and I couldn’t drive!

Pretty sure the site is now a large self storage warehouse…in fact, its probably a 10 minute drive from where I live now.
