I was originally gonna make this thread about tech n9ne, but i always have ideas for others as well. So lets discuss some song names or concepts.

My 1st idea that i was thinkin of when i made this thread, is (u guessed it) for tech n9ne. It would be fresh if he made a new choppers song called “Choppers Classic”. All the artists on the song would have to pick any beat, from any song they made themselves. It would be fresh as hell to hear an artist use one of their classic songs, wit a new verse.

Second one is 4 icp. On the spooky edition of the phantom ep, they have a song called “Murder Gone Wrong”. I suggest they have a remix wit da mafia 6ix. Maybe even have dj paul and/or juicy j tweak the beat a lil.

Well thats all i can remember at this moment. Hopefully some of the artist discussed in this thread catch wind of these ideas and eventually comes to fruition.i mean who better to take ideas from, than the people who hang on every word that they say.

I literally do this all the time. lol.

I want tech n9ne to make a concept album based on a cyber punk story of his creation.

I want ICP to explore other genres of music a bit more. I’d love them to do a trip hop side project.

ICP doing trip hop… sounds dope. You can catch traces of that on everything from “Ghetto Freakshow” to “Mental Warp” to “Vomit”.

“Lost” is the closest to a full trip-hop sound they’ve worked on as a whole. And I don’t love all that album. But it gets applause for taking chances.

Imagine ICP and Tricky or Portishead. That would be a 90’s kid’s underground dream come true.

I want that Rome kid from sublime to make a more hip hop sounding song. Some real collabo sample shit. An actual attempt to get the sound down even if it’s a new different version because music changes. But he has had no attempt of doing that. He had a song with wiz. I dunno. Something more raw.

Those songs are all close but no cigar.

I wish they never did that. The entire Sublime with Rome thing still to this day upsets me. Let Bradley rest knowing HE and HE ALONE was loved by people. The fact that Eric and Bud wanted to ride their past success without the guy that made them successful upsets me.

When they did the long beach dub allstars I tried to be supportive. They could have just went and made a new band with Rome. Not called it Sublime or use cover songs to start the launch of the group. They should have just done a different band name and took the time to write all their own songs instead of riding coat tails for a year. They are talented enough to do it.

I love sublime dearly. But I don’t mind the sublime with Rome shit. I like the fact that I get to hear that shit live. Peppers out now.

I never got to hear my favorite songs live. We’ll at least not like this. With bud and Erick. Bud quit by the way. It’s a good live show.

i see the whole thing as a tribute. Rome music is completely different from sublime. That’s how it should be. Rome couldn’t make a Robbin the hood but at least I can here SOMETHING…

His punky songs are dope

If u guys like sublime or reggae in general, i have a suggestion. Go explore the music from mike love and his first band dubkonscious. He is fuckin insane live and most his solo vids on youtube are insane. The album version of is songs are good but those vids online and seein him live are intense. He is extremely talented, he plays a lil riff then loops it wit his crazy foot contraption and creates layers to build the song. His most famous song is permanent holiday. Fyi most of his songs run over 5 minutes and its not the same shit over and over till it ends, more of a journey wit each song.

That actually sounds really cool I’m going to check that out. I’m not sure what to check out first live or recording. When I first heard bob I was a kid and stole my dad’s CDs. I heard his live shit first. So when I hear the album version it falls short sometimes but just classify it as a different reggae version.

Diggen in my dad’s CDs and cassettes was probably the best thing that ever happened to me…..

I feel ya, thats how i felt at 1st about the album versions at first too. The “live”vids are basically music videos , no crowds. Just him and the percussionist. The “jam in the van” and “audio tree” vids have more people playin wit him. I didnt even think his songs were all reggae until i got the albums. The vids are more acoustic wit reggae lyrics.

My fav songs are: permanent holiday, human race, neva retiya, i love you, humble, promise land, penniless, movin on, its only a dream, time to wake up, barbershop, good news, no regrets, distant travelers, no more war and jahwakening.

When I played in a band in college, we opened for Pepper once with the headliner being The Wailers. Fun times there. I don’t really care much for Sublime With Rome. I’m not a huge gigantic Sublime fan, though I do enjoy a good # of their songs. Rome is nowhere near as dynamic as Bradley and I’m definitely on the side of thinking they would have been better off not using the Sublime name.

No one can ever do it like Bradley. But I still see it as a tribute. Or something for the fans. But that’s just me.  I’ll go as far to say the only other person that reminds me of brad is Kurt. Reggae to me is shared and heard. I dunno seems right.

That little fucker Rome is from two cities over I saw him around growing up! He’s my age! I would day dream of shit like this. It’s like my day dream hit the earth but landed in someone else’s back yard!!!!!!! THAT SHOULD OF HAVE BEEN ME!!!!!!!! They just don’t know it…..
