My wife watches a lot of that stupid shit on TV... I don't understand it either - I try to avert my eyes when she has it on. The ironic thing is (Oh crap, I can see this thread really getting hijacked now...) that she watches the "beautiful people" on TV, the uber-privileged, the people who exemplify the whole concept of "This is SO not how the real world works"... Then complains that she doesn't feel like she's pretty, or bemoans "not having a life", et cetera, et cetera, ad nauseum. Well, when that's the shit you're comparing your own life to, you're obviously going to fall short because that shit ain't real... /rant.

I don't really buy shit because of endorsements, usually. I'll try something (like drinks or food) because of endorsements though. Usually more so because I think it looks good rather than the endorsement, but I do think that we all subconsciously make decisions based on these things. Unless you're broke and go for non name brand (excluding cereal, anybody that says there is a difference between name brand cereal and those huge bags of cereal is full of shit).

It's like, if somebody mentions hamburgers 9 times out of 10 you think McDonalds even though we all know McDonalds sucks in comparison to Carls Jr. or Burger King and has nothing on those Atlantis Burger type places.

Sometimes I think people try too hard to prove that they don't drink the kool aide, but I take the whole Bernz from that Wrekonize song as my take on it. I just observe everybody drinking the kool aide right before I take my sip of the kool aide.

It's actually more like Mt. Dew, you always crave it and you remember it tasting so good but when you finally take a sip of it, it's not nearly as good nor as thirst quenching as you remembered. And that shit will rot your teeth and make you fat, don't drink soda pop fellas. I drink raspberry sparkling water now, it's only 5 fucking calories! Way better than a 160 calorie can of carbonated syrup!
