True, he did well on that album. But he still shouldn’t have been on it (except as a feature on 1 track). It’s like doing a westcoast all star super group with all the westcoast legends… and Raekwon. Rae would probably murder every song he’s on, but conceptually he just wouldn’t fit. Same with Otis and KJC.. did great, didn’t fit in.

If KJC was going to make a sequel it would have been when DJ Paul was actually on the label. That’s come and gone. I don’t see another album in the foreseeable future by them, Like the SV, it was a one off thing.

I also don’t really see it happening again. But more because of Koop’s death, which was the end of da mafia 6ix. I think if they ever get back together it’d be a proper Three 6 reunion, but they have some newfound legend-dom in the mainstream, because everybody’s sampling them right now. So a collab album with ICP would probably be near the bottom of their list.

But I don’t think it has anything to do with Paul not being on the label. I never really assumed he was really on the label to begin with. They always talked about how he was gonna “drop an album on Psy”, “do an album with Psy” etc. I always figured it was an 1 album deal (ie his solo album). His appearance on the Posse cut on Hoodoo’s album is the only thing indicating otherwise. That song I was surprised by, tbh.

I say give that spot to Hoodoo. Let Lyte and Oujia do Lil Rydas (I’m already lo key hype for this. Those boys seem like gas and a lit match to eachother. Better not be Psychopathic Vaporware), no need to have them infringing on two gimmicks and risk playing themselves out, which is exactly how I felt about Wicked between Killjoy, his solo, and his nasally nuts all over Missing Link. I didn’t miss him when he went missing, in other words.

I just feel like Hoodoo’s style lends itself more to the Killjoy sound, and would be a more natural fit. Bring in Gangsta Boo to fill Koop’s slot and I think I might even prefer that lineup to the original. Fringe opinion, I’m sure.

To me, Killjoy Club was always meant to be an ICP and Three 6 Mafia supergroup. At the time Three 6 didn’t exist as such, so they went with the thing that was obviously close enough, the (then) remaining members of Da Mafia 6ix. And obviously that’s why Otis was only an unofficial member and even listed as “featuring” in the booklet. That’s why I don’t want to see anybody in Killjoy Club who isn’t (or wasn’t) a member of either ICP or Three 6 (not even Seed Of 6ix). The dream lineup would obviously be ICP, Paul, Crunchy, Juicy & Boo. But I’d even take just ICP, Paul & Crunchy over anything that features a non-ICP or non-Three 6 member.

And btw, I thought Otis did great on the first record. It was a really good showcase for him, too. I still would have preferred it had he not been on it (except for 1 feature spot). I said something like this before but it’s like having a westcoast allstar supergroup, featuring all the OG’s from the west… and Raekwon. Rae is dope and you know he’d kill his verses, but he still would have no place in that supergroup.
