Hard disagree. The concensus among fans, at least as far as I’ve talked to, is that they dig his music far beyond his douche-on-wheels persona. Talent and production wise, he’s levels above your standard Twiztid clones, especially around the time the underground was flooded with them. Your Fuckin’ Head Split is straight raw rap, for example, and it’s still very rough around the edges. From a production aspect, he utilizes everything from b-movie samples to giallo films, something horror nerds like me appreciate and lesser artists have been unsuccessful at. The reason he’s respected it because he does possess talent.

Keep in mind, I like Necro, but he’s not even in my top 5 MCs. Even he admits his whole style is a Kool G Rap bite. But, his response to this was to go ahead and do an album with the guy. There’s something to be said for that.

There’s not much difference between those 2 mixes in regards to Necros vocals. He wasn’t satisfied with either version. He likes to turn his vocals way up. Compare his part on Fight Club to his verses on DIE!. I get how he didn’t like it. But at the same time he made way too big of a deal of it. Wouldn’t stop bitching about it everytime any ICP related question popped up on his formspring (if anyone remembers that).

The Circle of Tyrants shit was aight. Im just not into that whole scene at all. Vinnie Paz, Necro, Ill Bill, Immortal Technique etc etc. I do love me some Rugged Man.

Fight Club was Esham, Necro and Violent J. Should have been an independent classic. Sucked. Awful beat, unmemorable verses. Stupid chorus. Such a stupid fucking chorus.

RZA is far and away better, to me. Gravediggaz, I mean cmon. But yes, I feel Necro and his large catalog of quality production and flows and creativity, is close. Only time will tell.

By the way, “Only Time Will Tell” is an example of an independent undergroundish track that was done right. Tech N9ne, Necro and Ill Bill with Everl aat on the chorus.
