Not bad for some of the choices, usually obvious for most tho. My fave old school albums would be one lesss g, green book and great milenko.
I think I had the most fun tho during green book era. I’ll never forget when bone thugs was with twiztid on the tour and RIGHT before bone comes out some guy came out and said layzie wasn’t gonna be there tonight and bone thugs comes out and some black chick screamed LAYZIE!!!! OMG LAYZIEEEEEEE for like 2 songs in and some girl decked her right in the mouth. funniest shit ever. That was also at the time one of the craziest shows when it came to fanbase because you had the rap people with the juggalos. but suprisingly the hip hop people were cool as fuck I figured alot of hate on juggalos and twiztid as a whole but they got into twiztid

ahhh this is a hard one. i dont really consistently bump older shit.
unless it peaks my interest, ill stop listening after 6 – 12 months.
but in saying that, im almost always bumping something from carnvial of carnage. my favourite original jokers card >.< i cop alot fo hate for that, eve from juggalos :(
no psy related, ive been banging heaps of old school swollen members and jedi mind tricks lately. (i missed the big deal with JMT when i was growing up even though they were one of the few easily obtainable ‘underground’ artists in the day. so im catching up now.)

Mutilation Mix is always a good’un to throw on. Good shout.
As obvious as it is, AJB is typically what I bump most, but it’s my fav jokers card and the one that encouraged me to “go Juggalo”, per se. Milenko I was always “eh” too – there was always something about the production that put me off.
Otherwise, Acid Rain gets a fair amount of play for obvious reasons. Those reasons because dope. But AJB will forever be the most consistent.
@novocaine Not a massive fan of JMT, but Psycho Social still gets maaaad love from moi. It’s still the tits.

Yea, psy related. I bumped the shit out of Shangrila still one of my faves also tho, mostly because of the memories with that album. Every album I love usually has some sort of memory to it lol. Ajb is my shit too Everything after ringmaster was pretty damn dope. I didn’t like COC or Ringmaster. Just wasn’t my style production was eh and the vocals sound like they were recorded in a garbage can.
I was always upset PSY never kept esham on, no matter what the reason was esham was a dope edition to psy. I loved a1 yola and rep. Psy had a solid line up for so many years then it feels like when the money started really rolling in after shangrila and hells pit they just dropped the ball. I think my biggest thing with psy is the production. The beats don’t have that feel to em anymore i’m not sure how to put it but if you listen to old stuff theres a big comparison. Not saying change is bad but the change they took just hasn’t fit them very well. I enjoyed the tempest and some of the new deck but everytime I throw on a new cd it’s like man, that’s all they got? That’s the production they went with? Where’s the guitars that were in your face (no pun intended) like on AJB, the dope ass drums ICP used to have. That’s why I’ve really liked Mike P when he came in for shangrila he gave ICP a sound that Sounds like em. When I threw shangrila on I was really suprised because it just meshed well together then MEC comes back and it really didn’t have that icp sound for the new deck. To me anyways. They started off good with tempest I enjoyed the sounds they were using.
Everyone says you have to put something new sounding out to be relevant but that’s not for sure. if ICP went back to the old sounding stuff like shangrila/hells pit with mike p on board you know damn well it would sound good. Doesn’t have to be the exact sounds, but the formula they used on the production was just dope

on PFOS2 and Esham, I’ve always loved “24’s on a 84”. Just a dope track. One of the only times TNT made an impression on me that stuck. RIP, by the way.
But yeah I copped that album with my brother while tripping hard on DXM. We had just seen Matrix Revolutions and were spaced from the dark theatre and how weird all the people in the mall looked. We started playing it in my Mitsubishi in the rain, and J’s laugh at the beginning of “Conquer” let us know we were in for a ride lol. Priceless times.
I have since lost that CD. Psychopathic stuff is always the first to either get stolen, scratched up from overplaying and trasporting, or just come up missing. The most old school stuff I own now is like Ringmaster, but its scratched to shit.
I have Beverly Kills on my old computer though, been playing that last couple nights.

The thing is, artists don’t want to sit there creating the same things over and over again. It’s boring. It might sound OK but it becomes stale to perform. It’s why writers don’t write the same books, why tv shows don’t have the same plots. could you imagine watching a tv show where every season the hero fights a similar bad guy? It’d be a snooze fest.
I actually prefer that every jokers card have it’s own sound and while I like the sound of Shangri La and Hells Pit, I’d be seriously let down if a new album sounded too much like them. I liked the sloppiness of Shangri La, I liked the way the songs ran into each other and how there were bonus songs hidden at the ends of songs and shit, but I wouldn’t want them to keep doing that because you stop getting surprised.

i’m not saying it has to sound like that at all. but why couldn’t they take a little from everything and incorporate it into the new music? like a little bit of milenko, riddlebox, ajb, shangrila, and hells pit all mixed into one.
There’s a few reasons.
1. if they put out an album that sounded like a mix of different albums, it might not really flow well and people might complain that it just sounds like outtakes.
2. They were in their 20s when they made riddlebox, they’re in their 40s now. they aren’t the same people.
3. If they came out with one that cherry picked YOUR favorite jokers cards, what about the people who like other albums? I really like Ringmaster, and novo said up thread he loves COC. Why exclude those two just because you don’t like them as much?
4. If a band put out an album that sounded like it came from the 90s, with the rap rock sound, the sloppiness and shit, it would sound anachronistic. ICP do not exist in a vacuum and we – fans i mean – have to accept that they are going to want to expand their audience and will have to reflect the wider sound of pop music to some degree. They have to be relevant to new ears. Kids who are finding ICP today won’t give them a second listen if they sound old and stale and like they haven’t produced anything new in 20 years.
5. lastly, how often would they have to go back into the well? if they did it once, people would be mad every time they came out with a new sounding jokers card and they’d be caught in a cycle of never getting to really play with their -new- influences and their -new- ways of approaching music, and the -new- types of equipment. people wouldn’t be satisfied with just one album that sounds like that. they’d want EVERY album to sound like that.

Since I got here it feels like I’m the only one who thinks LOST is balls out great. *shrugs* Then again, I always feel the odd one out for not entirely diggin’ Milenko. I like it when the Clowns are angry, I think. Lost sounds like a very angry, very cynical record (obviously with purpose).
I like the sort of bi-polar nature of AJB muchly (literally how it can flip from the likes of “I Want My Shit” to “Terrible”, “The Shaggy Show” to “Assassins” – all befitting of the ying/yang nature of the cards concept) and obviously for me MEC’s productions never been better. Like the carnival boom-bap of Riddlebox on coke, with well worked guitars underlying everything but not distracting.
AJB also brought some killer truths lacing their typical rhymes which brought a whole other layer, which I kinda feel to a shorter extent on LOST, too.
“Rapper dies of AIDS buy you hardly mention/Rocker blows his face off and becomes a legend”
Dope.

I find Lost very forgettable. I’m all for trying new sounds and not living in the past, but Lost just didn’t do it for me. I think they were trying to act “angry” when they’re just not anymore at this stage in their life and therefore it doesn’t translate to the music.
There were definitely songs I liked and will play again, but nothing stands out as classic ICP to me that will withstand the test of time. Whereas House of Wax blew my wig back for the first time since BPB. I do look forward to Found so fingers crossed.

I really like LOST, too. i don’t love it. I think I mentioned it above that I think House of Wax is an easy 10/10 but Lost, for me, was a bit lower which feels almost like a failure just because it they came out so close to each other and House of Wax set me up for something that didn’t come through.
That said, I think LOST is a solid album. I bump it regularly. I can see it staying in my car for quite some time and I only ever skip the intro and you should know.
