while I will admit the ENTIRE album is not on some angry/crazy shit I'd say they definitely stepped back into it more than they have on their last records...just my opinion though...I love the album for what it is

Got my copy today. Waaaay better sounding in my car compare to my computer speaker with no bass..lol

Anyhow, I'm really liking most of the album. I like Hate her to Death, but not for Death pop.

Blasta is by far my fav. I wish J would have said he threw his boss out of the 17th floor instead of the 13th on the final verse.

I'm digging the Daises beat but I can't really make out the hook.

Dog Catchers is mad funny

Didn't realize Skreeeeem was that "chic song" that every jokers card has.

Where's God is good. I'm Atheist so I was wondering how it was gonna go down lyrically.

Anyhow Death Pop has some wicked shit on it, but lacks the Horrocore part.

And the final hidden skit…wicked!

It's dope because everyone is entitled to their opinion, but I thought Skreeem was weak as hell and ghetto rainbows is the most faggoty ass track they've ever made. I didn't think anything would top miracles in that category either.

Everybody wants em to be angry and dark and wicked and blahblahblah.  What the fuck have they got to be angry about?  Seriously.  Everything they ever set out to do they've done and then some.  They're not pissed off teens/twenty somethings scratching and clawing to be heard anymore.  They're 40-ish years old, maybe not super rich but living comfortably for sure.

I was angered when they said they were doing a second set of cards because it just seems like such a cop out to me and I shit on BPB for not being like the old stuff.  But with this album, I accepted that it was new ICP before I listened to any of it and when you compare it to post-Wraith stuff only, to me it's the best they've done.

Being a few listens through now, I feel I have a more solid idea of my thoughts on the album. They're still subject to change, however.

I'ma try to be somewhat original and rate them on a scale of 1 to 10, also for the sake of accuracy.

Intro: welp, it sure is an intro, yup. NA

Mighty Death Pop: 7

Night of the Chainsaw: 9

Chris Benoit: 7

The Blasta: 9

Kickin' Kickin': 6

Bazooka Joey: 10

Shooting Stars: 8

Juggalo Juice: 7

Hate Her to Death: 7

Skreeem: 6

Ghetto Rainbow: 8

When I'm Clownin': 7

Dog Catchers: 10

Daises: 10

Where's God: 7

Forever: 8

Technically, I suppose math tells it'd be about a B rating, but music is more than just the sum of its parts. Plus, it came with a pretty decent second CD, so that's bonus fo' shizzle. Overall, it was really dope. It maybe wasn't as angry and aggressive as I'd hoped for, but it does come close at times. Musically it was diverse and enjoyable, and I felt the lyrics were more complex and clever than they've been in quite a while. Especially from Shaggy, I think he really stepped his game up.

Oh, and also, not that it counts for much, but I think MDP might have my favorite packaging of any joker card. The boxset style case containing both albums, and the linticular cover of the actual Mighty Death Pop record, fucking dope. Plus, I got a free keychain, extra swag never hurts.

I actually thought Shaggy around the Tempest era was the weakest we've seen him as an MC. FTFO and BPB had some pretty solid material though.

Also, I thought I recalled them saying there'd be a joker's card countdown diagram included like the old set had in the liner notes. I did not see one... I guess it's not a huge deal, but it would've been nice.

I don't think ICP has any exact plans for the future except get money, I pretty sure they didn't put the countdown cause they don't really know what they're doing, don't be surprised at all if they don't do another whole 6 cards, they're bout to be in their 40's. Calling these albums joker cards is nothing more then a marketing technique, they may release 1 or 2 more then say "oh this deck only has 4 cards", I could deff see them doing that. And I stick with my earlier statement, i dont get what all of you find so great about "the blasta" song?! I think that song sucks ass, and yet alot aren't feeling "kickin kickin" but I think that song is fresh as fuck. Guess we all have our opinions…
