If you mean tape as in cassette then that may prove a bit difficult. I haven’t looked too hard though. CD’s of Bass-Ment Cuts are usually pretty easy to come across.

What the fuck are the “Dog Beats” anyway?
The Dog Beats = a beat built from sampling Atomic Dog. Is it really that hard to figure out?

Atomic Dog is one of the most sampled tracks in hip hop and was EVERYWHERE in the late 80s and early 90s. They were saying they were spitting over the trendy beats that everybody wanted to hear.
This page has a list of songs that sample it: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Atomic_Dog
(the same sample was even used on Esham’s Homey Don’t Play the same year).

yes i do mean the actual original 1992 era cassette tapes
you’d think one would pop up on ebay easily if 2 thousand were pressed up
2k isn’t really that many when you think about it. Tapes get eaten and played out and recorded over. There might not be any out roaming in the wild after more than 20 years.

two thousand wouldve meant a rare tape then.
i doubt there are a hundred working dog beats tapes left.

i could smugly say that im one of the rare beatmakers that has never sampled george clinton, or james brown.
and i would smugly say it, except that ive sampled the beatles four times, which was just asking for it.
and star wars a few times, which did actually get me into a smidge of trouble.
awfully paranoid, arent you?

I could ONLY imagine how many times James Brown’s Funky Drummer has been sampled!!! I have this really cool double vinyl album with all of the original songs that were made to make all of the Biggie Smalls beats. Its dope when listening to it, its a really great learning tool to see how other people hear things to sample. Its like “DAMN ok I see what they did there”!!! Pretty fresh.

how have you never heard this song? I’m flabbergasted lol.
You need to spend some time on youtube with the words parliament funkadelic, like STAT. Even if you don’t enjoy the funk, you need it to be culturally literate. Especially in hip hop.

Plus George Clinton from p-funk played the Gathering a few years ago. I was disappointed in his hair, though. He didn’t have his old school p-funk hair. His hair was iconoclastic back then.
