i hope i didnt talk to you without realizing who you were.  if i did, my bad.

some notes before i go to work:

1 – okc juggalos are among the most well-behaved, polite and [whats the word…] reserved ninjas ive ever been around.  not that they dont get down, they do, but they were doin shit like consistently throwing their trash away, apologizing for bumping people, asking nicely for shit.

the line to get in showed incredible self-control.  and guess what?  the cops and security didnt fuck with anybody.  they talked some shit, but didnt do anything.  there may be a connection here, juggalos.

they arent the least rowdy crowd ive seen [that would be iowa city], but im generally used to rowdiness measured with the richter scale.  especially stl, where most of the crowd is legit maniacs [not as much these days, but still quite raw].

2 – okc juggalos roll the skinniest joints.  maybe its a local thing, maybe they are somehow easier to sneak in.  and im not complaining, several ninjas, unsolicited, asked me if i wanted to smoke with em, and i appreciate the gesture.  but i always felt like my big ass hands were gonna mangle the things.

3 – fearless leader was there, along with his wife.  and they are both the shiznit.  you knew this, but i dont care, they gets more props.

4 – venue was kinda raggedy.  staff was all right, cops didnt have an agenda.

didnt much care for the acoustics;  nearly every song sounded like it was stripped down to just the kicks and snares.  even the basslines were washed out, somehow.

5 – set was indeed very close to the gathering set.  same intro, mostly the same buffers and transitions between songs.

6 – lil oatey is just as out of place on stage with killjoy, as he is in the video.  he doesnt fit, and more to the point, i dont like him.  at least they arent pushin the other axe molester baby on us, that guy is far worse.

7 – saw a couple cats that i met at the gathering.  they remembered me;  i, sadly didnt remember them.

even more sadly, i didnt get their fuckin names or anything, either.  so, if you happen to read this, random ninjas who sort of know me, get at me.

8 – having seen all these acts before, mostly recently, ninjas aroiund me seemed to be surprised that i knew what was coming up next all the time.  example, hoodoo starts kickin runnin from my magic, im already yellin the chorus before he starts rappin, and kids in front of me turned around with this ‘how the fuck do you know this song?’ look on their faces.  or when icp did down with the clown, all remixafied and unrecognizable, same shit.  or the start of amys in the attic, or et cetera et cetera.

9 – jelly roll was not bad, really.  short set.

madchild was better, also a really short set, but decent.

hoodoo was there, and im likin him more and more every time i see him.  again, a short set, but i was diggin it.

mafia 6ix was bomb.  they may not be the best rappers in the world [hell, they arent even the best rappers on the tour, madchild would be that], but they are a lot of fun.  bought their cd and went through the silly autograph process, just as a chance to tell them face-to-face that they were dope.

mushroomhead was mushroomhead.  didnt move me any, but if youre into their shit, im sure its cool.  i dont care much for the metally stuff.  actually i dont think they are really metal, or even rock.  im not sure what they are supposed to be.  they must have a double-wide tour bus, though;  theres nine of the muthafuckas, if i counted right.

icp blew the place up.  anybody complainin that j and shaggs are old and boring now can fuck off.

10 – on a personal note, im actually glad that icp did the gathering set for this tour [or the tour set for the gathering, however you wanna look at it].

at the gathering i was so hurt during icp that i couldnt really enjoy it.  i also missed part of the show [first time ive ever fallen out of an icp concert, and its at a gathering, no less], due to heading back to the camp for some first aid.

now, its like i got a do-over, and can mesh the two experiences together.

and thats just about the show.  i could go on much longer about what it took to get there…  and back…

First time poster, many years a lurker here! Lol  your review here inspired me to finally sign up! lol. The last time ICP rolled through OKC was the Old Shit tour, and that was what? 5 years ago!?  ICP has always (minus 1 time) played at the Diamond Ball Room since I started going to shows in 2000; but I had wondered if the Diamond refused to have them back after the ninjas up front removed the barricade and took over the stage.  Security eventually cleared the stage, but it happened again at the end of the show.  And since you couldn’t see, I joined half the crowd on stage for the final 1minute of the show.  J did not look real happy, even with the paint on you could tell his expression changed.  There wasn’t a single Psychopathic employee trying to remove juggalos from the stage either time – it was all venue security.  Those guys were NOT happy at all.  So I just wonder if ICP can’t come to the Diamond anymore?  It’s not the greatest venue, but it’s better than the venue we were at last night.  I’ve never been to a show there, but being upstairs kinda worried me.  Could you feel the floor moving up and down with the crowd!?  Fuckin freaked me out, I was sure we were gonna end up scattered all over the wrestling ring on the 1st floor after we all fell through.  I didn’t really like this venue at all.

We were in the meet and greet line and this ninja walked up to me and said something like “If you see these new younger ninjas acting like idiots – take care of it. If they fuck it up tonight ICP won’t be back.”  ….just puts more conformation into my thoughts of ICP having nowhere to play in OKC if the Diamond doesn’t allow them back.   And sure enough, some fucker was pushing girls or some shit. 2 ninjas pulled him away from the barricade, he fell to the floor and 1 ninja next to me popped him right in the face.  Then my big 6’4″, 300lb homie picked his ass up and pushed him out the crowd.  Problem solved!

Great show tho, and the crowd seemed more tame than in years past while in line and between acts.  I just didn’t see that many younger ninjas like I have in years past.  Usually it’s the kids that act stupid and cause problems.  It made me wonder if ICP isn’t catching a new generation of fans.  And trust me, after shit I’ve seen in the past, I’m fine with that!

I saw Scottie on stage and was gonna say What up, but I was one of the last few people on the stage (the way they did the Faygo Armageddon was bullshit too) and the Faygo was running low, so I joined the party instead.  I lost my 26650 vape mod on stage, luckily some ninja found it in the lake of Faygo and I saw him carrying it around.  I lost my phone too, but I wanna give a shout out to the ninjette who found it, answered my homies call and returned it!  She was gonna post it as lost on here, so I hope she’s reading this!  Thanks a bunch girl!

And no, ICP is NOT old and boring. Anyone who says that can fuck off!!   I got some video on stage before I lost my phone, it’s not great, but I’ll try to get it up on YouTube!

Well, I’m not as upset that I can’t go now, seeing as I got to see the set at the Gathering.

Still upset, though.

know what you mean.

i dont think many of the ninjas in attendance knew the song.  i was wilin out, nobody near me was.

apparently, the majority of juggalos dont rate terror wheel as highly as i do.

then again, they also hate the tempest, love shangrila, think house of wonders is a dumb song, drink faygo instead of throwing it, and say/do/opine all kinds of other silly shit, so maybe thats not such a bad thing.

@sooner5900 – i talk to you?  dunno if id remember.  or if youd remember, its not like i was tellin everybody my name.

thinkin on it, it was a fairly small crowd.  i was hella mobile during most of the shows, so unless you were in the balcony, i probably at least bumped you a couple times.

They played Amy at the Houston show and it kinda brought the show to a stop. Very few people seemed to know it. I had always considered it a Juggalo staple but I guess my thoughts on it are different than others.

Thanks for the love @scruffy!  It was an unexpected surprise to see you all Lurch’d up next to the bar!   Glad we got to kick it a bit!  Old and Boring should not be used in the same sentence as ICP.  They killed it!

I disagree about Young Wicked. He’s gained my utmost respect.  Otis spits fire!

With that said, I’ll just leave this here:

i shoulda got your autograph.

im always tellin people i seen you here or there, and theyre all like, ‘nuh-uh, you didnt really meet scottied!  you lyin!’  and im like, ‘i did too!  hes my homie!’  and they come back with, ‘man, stop frontin to look cool.  you know you aint never met no scottied!’  and on and on.

why, i bet when i show em that picture, theyll say i photoshopped it.

photo is funny, looks like im tore up, or at least on my way.  thats a cup of ice, ninjas;  no drinks.  had to drive six and a half hours to get home, through a massive and continuous downpour;  if i had had two drops of alcohol dulling my senses just a tad, id probably be dead.  [was wrong, scottie, turns out travel time was much closer to thirteen hours, total].

i havent been referred to as ‘lurch’ in kind of a while.  used to hear it every day;  in high school, almost everyone that didnt know my nickname just called me lurch.  those that didnt, came up with their own name to call me, which i had to get used to [examples:  wild man, stretch, jolly green, skeletor].

Wow, 13 hours for a single clown show.  I’m not gonna lie…I completely plan on being at Juggalo day, wherever it may be this year.  Sorry you had such a shitty drive home.  I was done after my short 3 hour stint.

I did run into a bunch of ninjas there that were surprised to see me, but your account of that is hilarious!  I had one guy at the Twiztid show say that he saw me, saw the name on the back of my jersey, and said that he thought I was an impostor at first.  I told him that the day that someone goes out of their way to make a “Scottie D” jersey is when I know I’ve “made it”.  haha.  F U PAY ME.

We’ll agree to disagree about Otis.  Again, AMB and I have had our problems in the past, and Otis has let alcohol get the best of him on previous tours too.  I’ve seen it first hand.  It’s pretty apparent that he’s gotten his personal shit together now though.  Like his music/verses or not, he’s a pretty solid dude from what I can gather.

It was great to see you out there man!

PS: If you didn’t see the Faygo Armageddon footage yet, check it here:
