Record store owner and I were just talking about the profitability of condensing GOTJ to two days and touring it. Bet at least 5-7k people show up per city.
five to seven thousand people per city?
seven thousand arent showing up now. cutting it in half and doing it over and over isnt going to increase attendance.
far as profitability, i imagine that most of the interesting acts at the gathering wouldnt want to do it as a tour.
then there is the question of paying for it. whatever they are paying cypress hill, for example, are they gonna be willing to drop that amount every few days?
doubt it.
awfully paranoid, arent you?

Thing is last couple times ICP announced something of this nature it never happened. For instance, the big arena tour they were supposed to do with Limp Bizkit a few years back. All this hype about a massive tour and then nothing but big fart sounds when the summer rolls around with no tour. Then we find out a year later that DJ Lethal refused to fly or had diarrhea or some shit. Ain’t holding my breath for this latest ” Fattest, Grandest ” tour ever. Hope ICP surprises my lower expectation ass.

Would have made a lot of noise though. They could have marketed it as “The Most Hated Bands in the World” tour or some shit. All the music media would have reported on it. Major newspapers would have probably sent their reviewers to the show. Might have got them back on Howard Stern. A tour like that may have stopped the Gathering attendance form dipping to where it’s been at the past few years, simply because of the publicity and awareness it would have created.

they should have 2 30 date tours with a month in between.. the first one they do the ringmaster show, or the wraith show but nation wide.. then take a break go back home then come out and do another tour with a rare set, it would be cool to start seeing more of the label mates on icps tours, get whoevers blowing up in the underground then the rest label mates.
