Really good interview, they’ve had some really insightful interviews over the past few years. At this point in their career I think they are really due some respect and they are out there fighting for it, good for them. About the Tech part, they still gave him plenty of respect. They are not out of line to say that Tech’s early success was largely due to Juggalo support, of course it was. It was cool too they gave Twiztid props without a trace of the current beef going on.

it doesnt surprise me.. it looks foolish hating on someone youve spent years promoting.. theyve expressed themselves and are keeping it moving..
when they 1st mentioned twiztid tho he said “they were good” but thats just an honest statement, imo.. sure theyre still good but theyre not great anymore.. so i dont think that was disrespectful, haha..

I Think they are GOOD now… before they were GREAT. I just can’t get into much of the new stuff. There’s a few great tracks here and there, but few and far between.
I just realized… by trying to distance themselves from Psychopathic and revealing their own style, they in turn sound mostly like some more of the same.
Maybe Psychopathic has a better eye for unveiling the true highlights of an artist than people give them credit for?
I would like to see the Twiztid crew doing songs with ICP in the future, to try and give us a glimpse in that past freshness. They probably will collaborate again.
They remind me of homies I HATE to work with but enjoy hanging with in “real life”. You hate them in a certain setting but if you haven’t crossed paths in a couple years, and run into em, it’s those old priceless vibes again.
Some people are better left seperate but in contact, I surmise.

These are true sentiments. So much of Lotus and proto-Lotus work was so much greater than the sum of its parts. “Meat Cleaver”, “Drunken Ninja Master”, “Crystal Ball”
Some for real no shit magic happens there. I’m guessing this…whatever it is, is gonna go on for some time. Blocking the MNE Roster from Psy events is more than personal, it’s deliberate subversion of their business. This could take years to ammend
Still, I hope to see them pull a Non Phixion and just stun everyone with an unexpected reunion down the line

yeah I’ve seen quite a few Hot97 interviews…expected Twiztid to be on here before ICP tbh but it’s dope that the hosts gave them the proper respect even though Ebro obviously still doesn’t really get it completely lol cracked me up when they started getting surprised by all the people they’ve worked with/had at the Gathering…I think the hosts actually came away with a lot more from this interview than they were expecting

All my hater shit aside I thought that was cool too, actually. Instead of taking a chance to talk shit they took it as a chance to brag. And for once in the whole damn interview it did not come off as a brag of these people wouldn’t exist if it weren’t for us. Even though this is honestly the one time in the interview where the people would not exist if it weren’t for them.

Violent J dominated those dudes! Hahaha! His energy in interviews is always amazing. He talks over everyone but they shut the fuck up because he’s interesting and makes valid points.
2 Dope tries to talk but he gets bulldozed lol. It’s no wonder though cause he says pointless dumb shit half the time. He loooves having J there to carry his ass. Doesn’t he have ghost writers by his own admittance?

What’s your definition of “dumb shit”? I don’t get it. When he is given a platform to speak he does just that. Once J starts he doesn’t stop anyway. No he doesn’t have ghost writers. Stop reaching.

@redrum187 yes, a large portion of Shaggys lyrics are ghost written by J, this is fact
Don’t think so and that’s purely speculation not fact. J and Shaggs have very different styles. J is all about describing very weird and small overlooked details in his raps and Shaggy bluntly says whatever the hell he wants and doesn’t even bother to rhyme sometimes. Not a diss, just an observation and it’s part of what makes Shaggy so great. Shaggy has also increased his speed over the years while J has been slowing down his raps. They are clearly written by different people.
Sure, in their vast career J has probably helped Shaggs just as I help my band mates with lyrics if they’re stuck or I have them sing my own lyrics if they can do it better. But I don’t think “a large portion” is written by J. As I said, they have VERY different styles and the few times when J wrote for Blaze and Hoodoo, his style of attention to small details was still present. You can tell when it’s VJ (although people still think J wrote for Blahzay, so that just shows that even Juggalos don’t know what a J rap sounds like). I don’t think there is a single Shaggy rap done in the style of VJ. At least that I can think of.
Fun fact that actually has proof. Madrox has written most of Blaze’s raps, and people still want to give shit to J for writing like 11 songs for other people in his career. I guess 20+ if you include Zug Izland’s Cracked Tiles. Check the album credits, it’s all there.

i feel like shaggy’s writing style really became apparent in the 2000’s.. especially with the rydas and lotus albums.. i dont think most of his lyrics are written by J but i do think J wrote the majority of ICP’s lyrics, if that makes any sense, haha..

Unfortunately, I can’t find a source but I’ve heard both J & Shaggs admit that that J writes alot of Shaggy’s lyrics. Listen to almost any ICP demo, and J will be rapping Shaggy’s parts. They even spoke on this recently when J said that Shaggy is actually writing gis own lyrics for FTFOMF as opposed to J helping him write his last two solo records. J did in fact write lyrics for Zug Izland on Cracked Tiles & for Blaze on the original version of Gang Rags, although Madrix does write the majority of Blaze’s lyrics usually. According to Hoodoo J didn’t write any lyrics for Crystal Skull at all, except maybe helping with choruses.
