I feel that it should be up to the consumer whether or not they want to have a digital or a physical copy. let them decide, because then you're forcing a consumer to !)buy a computer if they dont have one 2)buy an MP3 Player if they dont have one 3)Hope to GOD that they're car even has a fucking port for the mp3 player/phone and 4)This would FORCE people to pay for backup services such as Carbonite cuz if your computer crashes or you get a virus,,,,there goes all your shit, you just wasted X amount of dollars on crap that you will never get back.
Also, how in the hell is an artist going to tour on an album that they cant sell at concerts? and what about the Gathering? how are you suppose to buy ICP/Twiztid/ Blaze/ABK CDs when they dont exist. PSY would LOSE more money than they already do at the Gathering.

I hate this as much as y'all I'm a cd and vinyl addict 300 + cds and 100+ vinyl but I hear about how the record store is non existent in other cities (NOT HERE YET 10 plus record stores here in Austin still) and Best Buy is already starting to shutdown and become “Best Buy connected” (look it up on forbes)
Besides you dont think Billy Bill and ICP haven't already crunched the numbers to possibly make this drastic of a decision they probably see bigger checks from iTunes and amazonmp3 for their albums than cd sales already and thats 100% profit with no cuts from Fontana distribution for the manufacturing costs…..I bet albums from Twiztid, Blaze and Abk sold more digitally than physically recently.

Buying CDs on the internet can save the physical copies because it’s less expensive than CDs in record stores. Just because of that, i think CDs are not dead. Now you can find a new album for 10 bucks or less on the web.

I'm including online sales in my example of physical sales vs digital…..and thanks but no thanks on your suggestion I'm loyal to my mom & pop shops every once in a while I'll order cds on Hatchetgear but I got my Music Mania and Friends of Sound record stores for my music needs.

if you think about it. the Bang Pow Boom era marked the most tours ICP has ever done to support an album since the Shangri-la record. so it would be natural for them to do little tours around hallowicked and then BAM come out with a big ass tour. who knows, maybe they'll do another Happy Daze tour(with better acts lol)

i only have best buy our hottopic in the next town
just order online than….like the broad above me said. I'm just stating my preference Austin is the live music capitol of the world so its gonna still have a strong record store culture as for other cities there all futurama style.

they toured off hells pit. not sure where that idea came from. as far as them slowing down and shit, remember theyve been at it for 20yrs now on a constant basis. probably ready for a break.
if they put out 1 version of the next album after mdp as a physical cd and call it a limited edition or some shit and charge $20-30 for it, things should even out. They'll figure out some way between now and then of selling you the digital version direct. It can't be that hard. They'll have QR codes at the merch booth for you to scan or cards with codes to type in. I don't think they get a lot of impulse buys at shows anyway
