Ive been to around 30 PSY concerts. Every act always plays the track of the song they are doing WITH the vocals, and rap over them. So bad. I thought ICP would give it their best on the Riddlebox DVD, but NO, goddamn vocal track is always playing. WTF do they do that? Makes PSY concerts bad.
I regret saying I HATE psy concerts. I LOVE PSY, been down since Riddlebox. I dont HATE them, but why play the CD and rap over parts of the songs? Distracting

The performers are runnin around, jumpin, dancing, rockin out, and getting the crowd hype. It's really fuckin difficult to spit every word perfectly when you're moving around so much and feeding off the crowds energy. The vocal tracks help them know where they're at when they need to take a breath so they don't get lost and fuck their song up. Personally I don't even pay attention to the background vocals, it's pretty much the norm these days for rap shows in general.

You must not hate them that bad if you have been to 30 shows. No concert is perfect.

Teech n9ne does not use backing vocals. He is all over the stage, dancing and shit and never misses a word. Rapping over vocals is fine if that's the only quality track owned(no instrumentals). It can also be viewed as lazy. Most of there songs only have stabs and adlibs and hook playing with track, unless it is older that milenko.

Availability of insturmentals plays a part. I had access to a hijacked Dark Lotus set CD, and I noticed they used the strait up album versions on the songs off TFTLP. The newer material had backing vocals mainly just doubling certian lines and on the hooks, but on most songs you could tell they just mixed the vocals down as oposed to making a new vocaless track from the master.

Seems like kind of a silly thing to complain about. Never bothers me any

EVERY rock concert, do alot, but dont have the cd playing. VIOLENT J Doesnt run around the stage. If they need help catching breath, and help knowing where they are in the song after 20 yrs, no excuse.
