Ninjas who needed to me to back up some previous facts I dropped, here ya go-
In a previous debate I had with @guest , he claimed anything Hatchetgear sells on disc with a barcode gets tracked by Soundscan.
I disagreed and said-
So the tens of thousands of Psychopathic Rydas albums that PSY has sold, chock full of stolen beats, were reported to Soundscan because they had all had a barcode on the back. What better way for ICP to help out a future lawsuit against them, then to provide concrete sales data to all the artists they ripped off? Ya, they reported all those sales, sure.
Supporting Fact- it very clearly states on the back cover art of Dumpin’ that they claim only 5000 copies were pressed. Violent J has since admitted in an interview that they have re-pressed that album many times, and then he laughed about the fact that they “still sell it”.
The 3 dollar CD sale Hatchetgear had a while back didn’t even meet the price threshold that Soundscan maintains to count an actual cd sold. So none of those sales were reported, and they sold thousands of cds that weekend(many went out of print after that sale).
Supporting Fact- social media was full of posts at that time of Juggalos showing the boxes of cds they bought from that sale. Ninjas who monitor Hatchetgear noticed that numerous albums sold out after that weekend, and have never been put up on Hatchetgear ever again.

Lastly I spoke about how the first batch of The Phantom EP Extra Spooky addition that sold out on Hatchetgear would not be counted as Soundscan sales, because they were all pressed up bootleg style on cdrs, and the album was full of illegal samples.

It clearly shows that PSY didn’t even bother to put a barcode on that EP, so those sales would have definitely NOT been reported at all.

I’m sure that non-disclosure agreements have a large part to do with how “open” anyone but VJ or Rob can possibly be. I would imagine a NDA is also the reason Otis deleted his post. Pretty common in the industry. They can’t say shit about PSY business practices. Speculation, but it lines up with what we are seeing. I read on this forum that at one point Mono confirmed they had signed a NDA, don’t have a source on that though.

Or is there some other type of intimidation tactic out there that would paint a more positive picture for Psy than an NDA?
I don’t think Mono was lying about not being able to talk. The existence of an NDA has been a hot topic, and in J’s two hour rant, he did not bother to deny the existence of an NDA. Not once.
