Hoping im not the only one that adds my current age to that song. “37 years and my life is still trying to get up that great big hill of hope”
nah, everybody does that.
start singin that song around people that are roughly our age, almost every time, somebody will jump in. and people who are slightly older or younger seem to have no idea.

It’s featured in a really key moment in sense8 season 1 so maybe that’ll change.
Also Lynda Perry (the singer of the band) writes pop songs now so if any fans of Pink or whoever decides to do some investigating they’re in for some surprises.
Lastly, as a complete aside, her wife plays a character on Living Biblically that made a joke about being a juggalo so… yeah no I was gonna try and claim that maybe we could get the 4 non blondes but I doubt it lol.
If you really believed that all lives matter we wouldn't need to say black lives matter

Whoopstock instantly made me think of 1969 woodstock. Cheshyr brought up the ’99 version in another thread. Got me thinking of lilith fair which happened around that year. I wouldnt mind rocking out to some of our throw back 90’s alternative ladies from the day. Alanis, Fiona Apple, 4 Non Blondes, Tracy Bonham…
I would hate all of that (4 Non Blondes would be pretty legit tho), but given J’s personal taste its way more realistic than my idea.
I would love to see 80’s acts that faded into obscurity show out, just for the gonzo factor. Allegedly Eddie Money is a half-lunatic who goes to bars and does Eddie Money kareokee, so I’d welcome him with open arms. Wouldn’t it be wild if Pat Benetar came out with Samantha and they did her cringey version of Love is a Battlefield? I hear that bitch still tours though, so prolly not happening. Bring back Kwame, straight up with the polkadot jumper and his old ass. Cindy Lauper is down with 80’s wrestling. Her and Boy George doing duets would be hilarious and brilliant, but y’all mfs would eat them alive. But! One that I *insist* be a thing is that Psy pay whatever licensing fees necessary and just have J come out, sans paint, dressed like Prince, lipsyncing and acting out the whole of a Prince Concert. That shit would rival Wizard of the Hood in epicness.
That said, Gathering is 90 percent not happening for me. I’m starting a new job that cuts the ribbon in a month or two, first year for a new business and its a full time commitment. I’mma have to get my chakras open and try to astral project my ass there, or something.

Nevermind. This dude is a complete lunatic from the jump. I’ve never actually seen a video from him until just now. Fucker looks like Rodney Dangerfield’s doofy little brother with less-than-a-quarter of Rodney’s tolerance for cocaine.
You can’t live near michigan and not like Eddie Money. He guests on a fair amount of radio shows and still puts on shows. Eddie Money is wildly great.

Ill give you Eddie Money and Cindy Lauper, but I want K’s Choice to do Im Not an Addict and your pudding cup. Give almost anything to hear that song louder than i can think. My highlights of the 80’s are the power ballads. Songs with feeling, even if they are soft as shit. Good luck with the new endeavor.

Didn’t ICP once say, after meeting her at Howard Stern or something, that they were gonna collab with Cindy Lauper? Did I dream that?
I remember this as well. It never happened if course, but I do remember and I was forever wondering if they were serious about it or not.

Red Fred single. They’ll probably also announce the release date and do the single live. However they’ll fuck up a couple little parts of it live and thus Juggalos will hate the song and talk about how ICP need to stop making music because their “new shit” sucks and yadayadayada.
Other predictions:
- Shaggy will be dangerous behind the wheel of a golf cart. His lawyer will not be happy about this.
- Juggalos will continue to not grasp that fireworks are not toys. Someone will get hurt because of this.
- Porta-johns will get tagged. J will not be happy about this.
- They’ll book an artist that clearly doesn’t belong at the Gathering. Someone will get hurt because of this.
- We’ll try to rush the opening gates again. Jump will not be happy about this.
- “Fuck Oklahoma” will now be a common Gathering chant. Even though we will all be happy about this-deep down inside, we will all still hurt because of this.

I have a weird feeling some or all of MNE is going to perform this year. Call me crazyEdit: I’m bad at spelling
People been been saying that.
Except its more of a lotus performance.
The reason twiztid (actually mne) made a post stating that they are saddened to hear about dcgcon and are telling ninjas to have fun at icp at the roxy tonight is becuz some people started speculating that the same thing is gonna go down at astronomicon in 2019…they are just trying to do damage control…..but it also implies that the rumors MIGHT be true of mne at this years gotj, or atleast a “special” set

Not really understanding the whole “fuck oklahoma” chant. From our perspective, Oklahoma did have a certain staleness feel. That was our second gathering, minded to ourselves, we did everything we wanted to, had about the same level of experience, it just wasnt there for some reason. The lake was cool and was def a bonus. I mean, i understand the size of the place, the lack of nudity, and over protective crowd control. What made it stale enough for all to be chanting this?

Probably because
“While there are admittedly many pluses to this new location, the unfamiliarity of the territory mixed with the overall negative attitude of the local police, local residents, and property owner makes us feel as if we are -at best- an afterthought and -at worst- an unwanted guest. We are certainly enjoying ourselves and truly don’t want to come off as too negative and while we are all well aware that home is indeed where you are comfortable; you must understand that we have for years been led to believe that the Gathering is a place wherein we needn’t worry about the outside world. This environment however, appears to be counter-intuitive to that assumption and we cannot help but look back longingly at previous locations. Thank you for hearing us and understanding our nuanced feelings about this matter. Sincerely, the collective Juggalo community.”
would 1.) be tricky to get the timing right on 2.) lack a certain punch that a good chant requires.
