… MEC …

Didnt MEC produce Bang! Pow! Boom!? As much as I am a fan of his work with ICP – I am just like everybody – no other ICP album has so many songs with shitty beats on it like BPB. There are some decent tracks on it, yes, but beats from songs like Love, The Bone, Imma Kill U etc just didnt work, at least not for me.

But, overall, I’d be happy too, if they worked together closely. The amount of awesome tracks MEC produced speaks for itself.

MEC served the dark carnival well but I’ve become accustomed to ICP using different producers. I prefer them to seek out new producers for each major album. Fuck, get timbaland to produce an album and have jodeci sing all over that shit!

I am one of those that doesnt love BPB either. The only songs I really like are In Yo Face, Vultures and Imma Kill You.

Zombie Slide really doesn’t get enough love…personally I dig the hell outta the production and it’s a fun, catchy (if not a little cheesy) jam

Nah, ‘To catch a Predator’ and ‘The Bone ‘was worth the price of the album, also, Eat a bowl of Poo Bitch!

What ever phase MEC was going through, he incorporated it in to the clowns music, the over all theme for BPB was 60’s Surfer Rock.

To Catch a Predator is fine. It’s more like a novelty track to me. The Bone is the worst song on there.

Fonz Pond can suck my dick. Miracles is pretty good. Zombie Slide is cheesy but my brother played it on the jukebox one night at a dove and it was awesome to see how confused everyone was at it. The very last BPB song it a great anthem. I Found a Body is wack. Boing Boing is playable and fun. Vera Lee is wack, no matter what Warlock says. What am I missing? Juggalo Island isnt bad for what it is…. and I think lastly we have Love. An incoherent, strange mess. I cant even understand what is being said.

Weak album with clear production, mostly. It’s like a third rate Amazing Jeckel Brothers.

The bonus songs… like “Our Hero” by Shaggs… that shit is great. Most of the bonus stuff is good.

Beautiful Doom – Greatly imbued with Dark Carnival Magic, did a good job of exploring Violent J’s philosophies, and also had a great flow.

Freaky Creep Show – Awesome, creepy beat, kind of a throwaway song as far as the Carnival goes, but definitely not a filler song as it still drips with Carnival Magic.

The Clowns are Back – Another Carnival song, but J’s vocals are that new-school stuff he has to do now and it doesn’t come off as good as it would have back when he was at Carnival of Carnage level with his regular shouting voice.  The lyrics are also pretty below par.

The Bone – Shitty lyrics, uninteresting vocals, too repetitive and uninteresting beat.

Zombie Slide – Like a more mainstream Headless Boogie, definitely not as good as headless boogie either lyrically or vocally, but the beat is top notch. Just a fun, throwaway song, but it’s not annoying.  I always used to like ICP’s fun, silly songs because the delivery was on point and the beats were nice, but J’s voice changing really messed with a lot of that.  Plus the fact that their catalogue is so expansive and it’s hard to keep producing gems every single time.

To Catch a Predator – Again, not a fan of Violent J’s voice necessarily, but this song is awesome.  This is a crazy guy doing God’s bidding, which is a classic ICP theme.

Boing Boing – The sex songs were never boring or annoying until The Wraith, now they almost all suck.

I Found a Body – The beat has really good potential for a classic ICP horror song like “12” or something of that nature, but I do like J’s voice on this and I like his delivery.  I don’t so much care for the lyrics, but the song overall is tight.

Love – Another annoying one…

Fonz Pond – A really good beat with an awesomely written and delivered concept.  I love this one.  It’s classic ICP.

Imma Kill You – I always like the approach of killing evil-doers, and I like J’s vocals in this, but I guess I wasn’t such a fan of the beat or something, not sure.  It just got boring quickly.

Juggalo Island – I don’t have a problem at all with non-creepy, softer side ICP songs, and there’s nothing really wrong with this song lyrically or musically, but it’s just boring to me.

Vultures – Dark Carnival Magic is alive and well here.  Shaggy’s verses are excellent, J’s flow and lyrics on the chorus is epic, and there’s nothing about this song I don’t like.

Vera Lee – This is one of my favorite ICP songs.  It’s kind of a horror tell, it delves into a mind that’s been overcome with grief by the death of someone he realized too late that he cared about.  I love these slower, heartfelt songs where it sounds like J is just pouring his soul out for me to listen to.

Miracles – I love the music to this song.  I love the message the lyrics send.  This isn’t a song about everyday things blowing someone’s mind.  It’s a song that reflects a philosophy of Violent J that he’s sang about and spoken about many times – the beauty of childhood innocence.  How everyday things are magical, but we cast them aside because they ARE every day things.  I love the concept and I love the music, especially the outro.  What I don’t like are some of the cheesy lyrics with awkward phrasing and the apparent fact that they felt the need to include cusswords and try to sound like they were being “soft with a hard side.”  Still love the song.  I loved it before it got hate and I loved it after it got hate.

Bang Pow Boom – Really awesome beat, awesome lyrics, awesome delivery, awesome message and overall excellent representation of what the Carnival is.

Favorites:  Beautiful Doom, Vera Lee, Vultures, Miracles

I liked Hair Up, mostly because of J on the verses.  The chorus was alright, but that breakdown was horrible and cringey to listen to.

Bang Pow Boom is my favourite card in the second deck. In my opinion it’s brilliant from front to back. To me it’s right up there with Jeckle Bros and Milenko as the best cards and the sales of those 3 albums back that up.

Mad late to this….. but I thought this track was ultra fresh.  First thought that came to mind upon first listen was FINALLY.  Something that really made my hype for this new FFF droppin’.  Props to ICP for bringing the thunder on this track, beat and raps on fuckin point.

I’ve listened to Fury every day since it was released and I really love this song.

I absolutely love the beat and the style in which they are rappin’. It feels dark and angry. The whole vibe reminds me a little of something from Hell’s Pit, which is a special album for me because it was the first ICP album I ever bought.

A lot of people have complained about the chorus but I like it. it helps break the song up and slow the pace ready for the next rap to come in. J is sounding as good as ever.

This is the kinda ICP I really wanted to hear. In terms of style this is almost a perfect ICP song for me (remember just my opinion). I’m so hype for FFF now. I just hope it’s more this style than WTF, because I really didn’t like that song at all. Prob one of the worst ICP songs I’ve ever heard (again, remember, just my opinion).

:)
