He retweeted a story about juggalos beating facial recognition tech with a “whoop whoop”. Someone asked if he was down and he said he likes ICP. ICP (Violent J) then tweets asking for a little 💵 help. And homeboy says he’s going to buy a ton of merch. I already thought Elon was dope but this really tips the freshness scale.

Yeah I agree, was off-put by J’s response for sure. For someone like Elon Musk, a very successful, respected, and smart person in the tech industry to come out and say he likes ICP and will buy their merch is a RARE fucking thing and all J can do is hit him up for money? I know he was probably in a “joking” tone but come on man, have something more fresh to say than that.

He didn’t buy PayPal technically and I wouldn’t really say he made it what it is.
In March 1999, Musk co-founded X.com which was an online financial services and e-mail payment company.
In 2000, the company merged with Confinity which owned PayPal.
The merged company was renamed PayPal in 2001, but Musk was already ousted in October 2000 from his role as CEO due to disagreements with other company leadership.

I wouldn’t expect that. While the paint blocks some facial recognition software (not all), a mask is easier, and blocks all types.
This was more an interesting look in the way facial recognition software works (and doesn’t). Smart tv’s have facial recognition in them. They collect behavior data and sell it to advertisers / use it to manipulate you through advertising strategies, etc.
Stores track you through security systems and your digital cards/ phone numbers required to get discounts. They can make extremely accurate guesses about your needing or wanting a product before you even realize it.
Facebook doesn’t use facial recognition but it does the same kinda shit. That’s why you see ads and you’re like wow I was just thinking about that.
What homie was saying, more or less, was that you can disrupt that system by wearing face paint that confuses it by placing a false jaw line on your chin, the way icps painted mouths do.
